U.S. trade chief Tai defends pursuit of non-traditional trade deals
WASHINGTON, April 5 (Reuters) - U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai on Wednesday defended the Biden administration's decision not to pursue traditional free trade deals and argued her approach of working to ease non-tariff barriers is better for workers, supply chains and the U.S. ability to compete with China.
In a policy speech at American University's Washington College of Law, Tai said she is starting to change minds in Washington and in other capitals that the traditional approach of cutting tariffs no longer works in the highly competitive global economy of the 21st century.

Chinese state media didn't even include anything Macron said, not even the usual greetings in the meeting report.

Basically confirmed France will join the BRI later this year.
Xi is expected to meet with Ursula von der Leyen soon, Macron's meeting was so short, didn't seem like China changed its position at all. Looks like Macron will go to Guangzhou alone tomorrow.
The bad cop got a chair even after attacking China on twitter right before her meeting.
