What a bunch of US airlines crybabies.

Instead of asking for baning of foreign airlines flying over Russia from landing in the US, why don't you (the US airlines) lobby the US government into doing actions that would allow US planes to be able to fly over Russia again instead, huh?!

Fvcking ret4rds.

On the other hand, if such bans become a reality, how should China respond?

The article seems to suggest that only Chinese airlines will be banned. Not the Indians, southeast Asians, or anyone else. Really, the only way China should response is by banning US airlines from Chinese airspace.

The proposal appears to have gained traction with the Transportation Department, which recently drafted an order that would ban Chinese carriers that fly passengers to the United States from flying through Russian airspace

Transportation Department officials declined to comment. But national security officials are mindful of the potential diplomatic consequences of steps aimed at a longtime ally like India, or of adding further tension to the already strained relationship with China

Love to see China finally paying the Anglos back in the only coin they know: enlisting a 3rd party to intimidate and make war on your enemy, whilst you wash your hands clean and profit from the instigation.

Argentina might feel a little more confident in taking back the Malvinas with some choice Chinese gear backing them up. And the Anglos lose yet another core piece of territory. First the Malvinas, then Diego Garcia.
Hope China send a bucket load of AShM this time, Argentina has no problem to sending the Anglo fleet to the bottom of the Ocean if they had more Exocet last time.
Not enough. The Argentine military today is pretty much a shadow of its former (1982) self. Because we are talking about Islas Malvinas (Falkland Islands) that is located around 750 kilometers from mainland Argentina, let's talk about their air force and navy.

The Argentine Air Force is filled with warplanes from the Cold War-era. They only have:
1. 24x 3rd-gen fighters, 5x attack aircrafts and 8x trainer-attack aircrafts from the 1970s and 1980s,
2. 2x EW aircrafts;
3. 8x tactical airlifters;
4. 2x refueling tankers; and
5. 11x short and medium-ranged maritime patrol aircrafts.
They have no 4th-gen fighters (let alone those with AESA), no AEW&C aircraft to control and command allied units, no surveillance aircraft to conduct observation and surveillance, and no ELINT & SIGINT aircraft to conduct intelligence gathering. They also don't have enough tactical airlifters that can swiftly transport large number of troops and equipment between the mainland and Malvinas.

Similar situation can be used to describe the Argentine Navy. They only have:
1. 4x FFGs from the 1980s;
2. 9x corvettes mainly from the 1980s and 1990s;
3. 2x SSKs from the 1970s and 1980s (both are in reserve);
4. 7x OPVs; and
5. 3x amphibious support (not assault) and cargo ships only.
They have no modern FFGs (let alone DDGs) that can conduct effective surface warfare, no LPDs, LSTs and LSMs (let alone LHDs) for carrying troops in large numbers and conduct airborne beachhead assaults, no modern SSKs that have AIP/lithium-ion batteries (let alone SSNs), and no proper auxiliary vessels that can refuel and resupply warships at sea and between the mainland & Malvinas.

Last but not least, significant portions of their equipment, planes and ships are in non-operational status or reserve.

TL;DR - If Argentina and the UK clash over Malvinas again today, the odds against Argentina would be even more stacked than it was back in April-June 1982. If Buenos Aires truly wants to have any hope of reclaiming Islas Malvinas from the UK, the Argentinian military desperately requires massive upgrade, improvement and expansion from its current size and deployable firepower - TODAY.

What I believe the Argentine military truly needs (and can be purchased/obtained from China) for retaking Malvinas are:
1. DF-16s and DF-21s for land-attack and long-range anti-ship, perhaps even DF-17s;
2. YJ-83 and YJ-12 for anti-ship, perhaps even YJ-18 and YJ-21 AShMs;
3. JF-17s as strike and support element, J-10s as main aerial combat element;
4. Y-9s for troop and equipment transport;
5. KJ-200s for airspace control and command, perhaps even KJ-500s;
6. Varous types of Gaoxin aircrafts for surveillance and intelligence gathering;
7. KQ-200s for maritime patrol and ASW;
8. 054A FFGs for surface combat, perhaps even 052D DDGs;
9. 056 corvettes for ASW;
10. 039A SSKs for anti-ship;
11. 071 LPDs for amphibious assault and aerial support, perhaps even 075 LHDs;
12. 072, 073, 074 and smaller landing ships and crafts for amphibious assault; and
13. System-centric and network-centric warfare management system.

Unfortunately, Argentina doesn't have the deep enough pockets required for this kind of adventure anymore in the foreseeable future, I'm afraid.

Speaking of which, Argentina may also join forces with her LatAm neighbours for any future venture on Malvinas in order to increase her chances of success. But even so, considering the advancement in equipment and platforms that the UK could bring to bear, it is still going to be a very tough fight with remote chances of operational success.

My guess is they only issued this arrest warrant because Putin is not in a country that ratified ICC participation. Arresting the head of state, especially Putin, can be considered an act of war. Russia would be forced to respond and at that point there is no path for de-escalation.

At the end of the day, this is just anti-Russia propaganda with little substances. No one is arresting any state leader from a sizable country and especially not Putin.
Nah, they are not morons, it is a calculated move - I don't think they want nuclear war. Kidnapping the president of a nuclear country would lead to that.
Welllllll.... hold on now. This is assuming they're rational. Once you spread too many lies, you start believing them and it's not inconceivable at this point that the West might think that once they arrest Putin, everyone in Russia is going to say they were liberated from his tyranny and now they can finally withdraw from Ukraine. The West never acknowledges that another people might want to fight against the Western world order for their own national power and pride; they say stupid things like, "We stand with the people of China against the CCP," as if people in China want to live in a US/Western centric world and it's the CCP forcing them to bring about a Chinese century which none of them want. We're dealing with people that are this stupid, and that is magnified by the desperation to end a war that is unexpectedly bleeding them out, one in which they thought they could economically crush Russia in weeks, so I'm not confident we can apply rational logic to them.

I keep hearing about it but honestly I find the reaction to it extremely cringe, having a female student guide(for exchange student) has nothing to do with 'pairing up' or 'making out'.

You having a female tour guide doesn't mean that anyone has any intention of making out, it just mean that you are new, need someone to show you around the place that that person happen to be female. People need to go touch some fucking grass and realise that there are more than one way that man and woman can interact.
Plenty of complains from the female “guides” that they were force to stay with the African students and have sex with them. Some had multiple abortions due to the unwanted sex.

The United States has confirmed that rounds of Chinese ammunition have been used in battlefields in Ukraine and suspects they were fired by Russian forces, government sources said Friday.

Whether the ammunition was supplied by China remains unclear, the U.S. administration sources said, while adding Washington is poised to take action if it is verified Beijing made the shipments.

The United States has notified some of its partners about the confirmation, according to the sources.

The confirmation came as Chinese President Xi Jinping plans to travel to Moscow for a three-day state visit from Monday. In his first trip to Russia since its invasion of Ukraine began in February last year, Xi is widely expected to reaffirm his close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The U.S. government has determined that the ammunition found in Ukraine was produced in China after analyzing its composition and other factors, the sources said.

However, they did not disclose what kind of ammunition was found.

In talks with Xi, U.S. President Joe Biden warned him of serious consequences if China provides military support to Russia for its war in Ukraine.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Saturday that Japan will carefully monitor the developments of an investigation against Russian President Vladimir Putin after holding talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Tokyo.

Scholz also said he supports the International Criminal Court's issuance Friday of an arrest warrant for Putin on the grounds he has overseen the war crime of forcible deportation of Ukrainian children during Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

It was the first time that the court in The Hague has issued an arrest warrant for a sitting head of state of a permanent member of the U.N. Security Council.

The two leaders also agreed that Japan and Germany will work together to reform the United Nations, as they have expressed a willingness to become permanent members of the Security Council of the international organization.

Russia is one of the five veto-wielding permanent council members, along with Britain, China, France and the United States. All are nuclear powers.

Some critics have claimed that the council has appeared dysfunctional, particularly after Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

Yep. The US is really jacking up their efforts to push Xi into the same envelope as "iCc-dEsIgNaTeD wAr cRiMiNaL" Putin, and derailing any potential China-mediated peace brokering between Russia and Ukraine.

Although, personally, I don't really see a bright prospect for this attempt of working for a Russia-Ukraine ceasefire by China to become successful. Both sides (Russia and NATO) have invested too much and too deep into the war effort by this point to just pull out of it like that.

Yawn, what's up with all these excuses? If you are strong enough, just sanction China. Don't waste our time with all this boring manufacturing consent

IMO these moves, along with designating Putin as a criminal under arrest, is to derail an attempt by China to mediate peace between Russia and Ukraine.

And of course to distract the public from the ongoing bank crisis in the US
