When the West creates soft power, they raise their OWN status high above everyone else (superior, white savior, most attractive, etc) while stepping on everyone else (often with plausible denial by hiding behind "academic studies").

When China creates (what it wrongly thinks is) soft power, they raise OTHER people's status.

You see this in preferential treatment of foreigners in daily life, at schools, in the media, hiring losers (editor at Global Times and even university deans), dating/sex, leniency on criminals, etc

China routinely teaches non-Asians that they are ABOVE the Chinese. What can they do except look down upon you?

This is one of the many reasons why China's current soft power is far below it's potential. It simply doesn't understand one of the most basic aspects of soft power - elevated status for yourself.

Remember, Africa has no hard power compared to China. So, these types of failures have nothing to do with hard power. More hard power alone will not solve this.
Chinese still see the outside world through rose-tinted glasses. The international students I interacted with at uni had some absolutely cringe takes. It wasn't until reality slapped them in the face that they finally started examining circumstances in a critical manner. SMH some of them still worship the ground white people walk on.

On the other hand, second generation is absolutely a lost cause. They straight up enable and give legitimacy to white supremacist thoughts.

Chinese immigrants to the West and 2nd generation are almost entirely hanjian and should be treated the same as enemies in war.

Plenty of complains from the female “guides” that they were force to stay with the African students and have sex with them. Some had multiple abortions due to the unwanted sex.

Well that makes zero sense, at any level.

I have yet to meet anyone from China who wants darker skin, so there is no eugenics angle to speak of as a possible motivation.

How anyone can think university students can be forced to have sex with people in China is beyond me. Especially since, rightly or wrongly, Chinese society is still very intolerant of premarital sex. With female ‘purity’ and virtue especially cherished. Any normal female Chinese university student who faced such pressure would immediately call home to complain and there would be literal riots by enraged parents and almost certainly leading to a formal police investigation and rape charges against any university staff involved.

But the real cherry on top is the multiple abortions claim. That’s like complaining about a restaurant having bad food after going back for seconds and thirds.

What is infinity more likely is that teenagers pumped full of hormones and away from home for the first time in their lives did what they were genetically programmed to do when given the chance. Got pregnant, got abortion(s) and carried on until parents found out, so blamed university rather than face up to the consequences of their own choices.

Credit Suisse is about to be bought out by UBS… and US authorities are involved in deciding the terms of the deal lol.

US Authorities Engaged on Possible Credit Suisse-UBS Deal

Swiss government has been working to broker deal between firms Any deal announcement could come as soon as this weekend

US authorities are working with their Swiss counterparts as they seek to hammer out a deal for UBS Group AG to buy all or part of its struggling rival Credit Suisse Group AG, according to people familiar with the matter.

A tie-up between the two banks would be of interest to Washington regulators because both lenders have operations in the US and are considered systemically important in Switzerland. American officials may seek to weigh in on matters that could impact final terms of any deal, said one of the people, who asked not to be identified discussing the confidential conversations.

Depends on the wave. Political refugees from the 1980s and 1990s indeed tend to be West worshipping, but their descendants and later immigrants are a mixed bag. Where they grow up has a heavy influence. Newer enclaves like New York City tend to be more loyal to China, while traditional enclaves especially those with a lot of people from Taiwan and Hong Kong tend to be less so.
