Meanwhile, over in Poland. People are queuing for several days to buy coal by sleeping inside their cars.

"Toilets were put up today, but there's no running water," he said, after three nights of sleeping in his small red hatchback in a crawling queue of trucks, tractors towing trailers and private cars.
"This is beyond imagination, people are sleeping in their cars. I remember the communist times but it didn't cross my mind that we could return to something even worse."

OK... I'm sure in the nuclear EROEI = 120 fantasy land Toshiba, Westinghouse and EDF are making great profits, and totally not bankrupt; 29/56 of EDF reactors are totally not offline right now; and Hinkley Point C (announced back in 2008) is on budget and ahead of schedule, totally not going to cost £26B instead of £12B and absolutely not delayed to 2027.

Meanwhile in the real world nukes take >12 years to build, and cost a huge amount to built, maintain and decommission, only viable for well run governments with a lot of foresight and actually workable energy policies. Commercially they are too risky, completely uninvestable, so talking about their return on investment in almost pointless.
EROEI is a policy accounting tool for asking physical costs. There are both physical and nonphysical costs. When a policy analyst or lobbyist uses EROEI the question asked is "what's the difference between physical cost and actual cost?" "What energy source should be sponsored by the government if lower cost is the sole goal?"

Just another thing we would hear get repeated for 50 years if happened in a country that the US considers an adversary.
Yeah, this is coming to the USA if the USA isn’t careful. Plus the rest of the world gets to see an epic self own age happen on worldwide TV. Really, the solution is easy and it requires the polish to well show some genuine respect to Russia but because their so filled with hate, they simply cannot do it and thus well, hopefully this will end up being a real lesson on the dangers of racism that is literally hoisted onto a nation via the USA NGOs. It literally can destroy nations while the USA is busy laughing there asses off, not realizing that the rest of the world can see what’s up and are looking forward to the day when the USA loses enough of its Allies so that only then can the global south return the sanctions to collectively tear the USA a new one.

I don’t think it’s normal for the propellor shaft to be damaged.

Few days late but it looks like their exercise is going to be cancelled lol.

@siegecrossbow what are your thoughts?

Reason for Failure: Not greasing the propellor shaft. (Human Error? Lmao)

The Royal Navy’s new £3 billion aircraft carrier may have ground to a halt over a failure to grease the propeller shaft, naval sources have said.

Naval sources have told The Telegraph initial thoughts are pointing to a lack of lubrication on the starboard side at the point the propeller shaft leaves the interior of the hull.

Results: Significant damage to the starboard shaft. “It’s not working.”

The source added: "We think there is significant damage to the starboard shaft. It's not working."
The source also said that this would prove a "major problem to fix"
Any overheating
at this point due to friction could have damaged the metal shaft, sources have said.

Shaft damage is really bad. It's like totaling the transmission on your car.
