The problem with BRIC + is there are overwhelmingly more Anti-China Ja Hind types brainwashing their own people for decades than there are Anti-Indian Chinese.

India is "sitting on the wall," so to speak and is not powerful enough to veto or block major initiatives and cooperation among BRICS+ countries. BRICS+ will not be a security block. It can provide the platform that unites the majority of the large developing countries on common economic and political interests. Out of this platform can evolve some subsets of more closely aligned countries over time.

Inflation imperils Boris Johnson’s grip on power

Brits forego heating and stay home because of surging prices, say handling of cost crisis will be top election issue, poll shows

A new poll suggests UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is likely headed for defeat in the country’s next election unless he can begin to convince voters that his party has the right leadership to ease an inflation crisis that is eating away at their standard of living.

The

, conducted by Savanta ComRes for the Daily Mail and released on Saturday, revealed that only 24% of voters see Johnson’s Tories as the best party to manage the inflation crisis, compared with 39% who chose the opposition Labour Party. Dealing with surging prices will be the top election issue, the survey showed, as 90% of respondents said it will be an important factor in their vote.

Inflation accelerated to a 40-year high of 9% in the 12 months to April, the UK government reported this week, crimping the lifestyles of most Brits. Six in 10 voters have already begun spending more time at home rather than going out, and 51% are wearing more layers of clothing to avoid using their heaters, the Daily Mail poll showed.

With petrol and diesel prices rising to all-time highs, 44% of voters have turned to walking and cycling more instead of driving. Three in 10 have canceled subscriptions, such as streaming services and gym memberships.

The poll found that many voters have been forced to take more drastic steps, including 21% who skipped meals regularly and 20% who borrowed money from family or friends. Meanwhile, 11% have stopped making loan payments, and 19% have either gone to a food bank or thought about doing so to put meals on the table.

As for who voters blame for the inflation crisis, the top choice was the UK government at 25%, the poll found. This was followed by the Russia-Ukraine conflict at 22%, and the Covid-19 pandemic at 20%. A whopping 74% said the UK economy is worse than it was six months ago.

Brits are looking to the government to help them get through the crisis, with 73% calling for a higher minimum wage, 72% favoring cuts to fuel taxes, and 65% supporting acceleration of a planned reduction in income taxes. Strong majorities also called for reducing environmental levies on energy bills and scrapping a planned increase in national insurance premiums. About 75% said the government should impose a windfall tax on the profits of energy companies.

The poll showed that 40% of respondents plan to vote for the Labour Party in the next election, while 34% favor Johnson’s Conservative Party. The remaining 26% intend to vote for minor opposition parties.

And Russians all over the place said Medvedev was an Atlanticist Integrationist. I think if he was ever interested in that, it's now as dead as can be. Perhaps it's all just political talk, but I still remember his comment in February, "......And then, for sure, to consider each other only in weapons optics.” It's only a matter of time before the West has to come to the table. Even the most indoctrinated individual will question things if they go hungry constantly, let alone risk of starvation. It's kind of crazy how Russia had food supply issues in 2014 after sanctions were applied after Crimea, then became a massive food exporter, Khrushchev may have had the last laugh.
This Dugin interview to LA times 2008 where he admired Medvedev deception. he predicted the current events.
Dugin also got a spot in mainstream Arab media. the point is current leaders of Russia far more sophisticated and educated than what Soviet got who were damaging internal society for outward appearance of strength.

I was deceived by these circles. But at the same time, maybe the West also was deceived by them.
And by Medvedev, also! Because I considered Medvedev to be the revenge of the liberals, and I protested. I think Washington and Brussels also saw the same and we were all deceived. Medvedev proved to be a real hard-core Russian patriot and statesman. So I admire such deception -- even if I was also the victim.

At some point, China, perhaps together with Russia in some cases, should offer security guarantee to some of the developing countries selectively. China is not ready yet--we're talking about something a good decade and half away. It sounds still far in the future, but it is not. The US is in decline, and is trying to mobilize its vassals and clients to form an anti-China & anti-Russia block and continues its hegemony and bullying over vast majority of the countries in the world. China needs to step up the leadership and takes counter-measures. The world needs an alternative to the US and its vassals.

BRICS+ is a good starting point; it can form the economic and political foundation. Over time, it can move into security relationships.
This will never happen because China has a clear, practical, pragmatic and sensible plan for world peace, it’s called the Global Security Initiative, and it has a very good chance of success.

It may or may not happen, out of deliberate design or circumstance, we don't know yet. We'll have to wait and see; much will depend on the wisdom and foresight of current and future Chinese leadership. China's so-called Global Security Initiative is merely empty talk with no substance. It's really just trying to seize the moral high ground, like all these humanity with common destiny talking. Sounds good, but practically meaningless.

China in the '70s proudly pronounced to the world that it was a country with neither internal nor external debts. For the longest time, China told the world that it would never have military bases in foreign countries, etc. etc. A lot of these were just moral posturing and natural and knee-jerk reactions from a poor, inward-looking country who had been the victim of western imperialism and colonialism for the significant portion of last 150 years. It's understandable but ultimately out of tune with time.

This is not advocating China replacing or competing with US hegemony/imperialism. On the contrary, China needs to come up with new model and architecture to work with the world. The US has demonstrated that it would not be willing or tolerate to co-exist with an equal power or peer competitor, and is willing to stir up troubles around the world to sabotage and mobilize its vassals to gang up against China or other competitors. China will need to counter that and in order to do that, China will need allies and friends on common interest, not empty talks with no means to back it up.

How is the new group in power? Are they as foaming at the mouth Anti-China or just normal competitive?
Their policy are not too much different. The new government strife to solve the China issue by being more diplomatic. The Morrison's Liberal Coalition however prefered "going to war with China" mentality.
Ironically it is their likely new leader, Peter Dutton, said that.
Now that he is going to be the leader, hopefully he will be less confrontational as all Chinese speaking seats abandoned Liberal for Labour because they were very disturbed by those words.
Morrison and Clive Palmer considered Labour candidates as "Manchurian candidates".

Yeah ofc, but every move they make is countered with such aplomb. BRICS+ contains the worlds largest democracies, I’m talking about true democracies not false, or partial ones, like the US.

While the US can’t even get Korea and Japan to talk, China builds consensus with the majority of the world. We are not finished yet, because we have some big news about the GCC, Latin American and Caribbean countries still to come. At which point it will be the West that will be isolated !

As usual, the US will probably resort to regime change as their main counter, but this doesn’t seem to be effective anymore.
The US and G7 would need to revamp their Build Back Better World Initiative with more money and less strings attached to win over others developing countries from BRICS+++++++++++.
