Well it makes sense that if you live in an urban area with lots of tall buildings, it’s far less likely lightening will decide it wants to earth through you as opposed to one of the hundreds or thousands of high rises around you.

Quite an interesting editorial by GT .

Even though a thousand miles away, those who commit terrorist attacks on our compatriots will pay.
Indirectly Recognizing that its India who was behind the recent attack.

We will not only provide the necessary support and assistance, if Pakistan's strength is insufficient, China's missiles and special forces could also directly participate in operations to eliminate threats against Chinese in Pakistan with the consent of Pakistan. We will set an example as a deterrent.

China willing to send SFs to Pakistan . I would say its a great move. Yes casualties may occur but it will also provide valuable combat experience to Chinese SFs .

Now ofcorse inviting any foreign troops for domestic ops is a very politically risky move but in this case China will be working alongside Pakistan in eliminating terrorists who've caused immense damage to Pakistan and its people. Hence even public would appreciate Chinas presence. Low chances but i hope it happens.

Amid political division and constant culture wars, two-thirds of Republicans in the southern United States and almost half of West Coast Democrats want to secede from the country and form their own nation, according to a new poll.

released on Wednesday by Bright Line Watch and YouGov reveals that a large portion of Americans from across the US want their regional area to secede from the union, with southern Republicans and West Coast Democrats apparently the most dissatisfied with the status quo.

In total, 44% of southerners support secession, with 66% of Republicans expressing a desire for the South to part ways with Washington. Half of southern independents also expressed support for secession, as did 20% of Democrats in the region.

Over on the West Coast (which included Alaska and Hawaii), there was less desire to break away, with a total of 39% of Americans expressing support for secession – but here Democrats were the most likely to want to secede at 47%, followed by independents (33%), and Republicans (27%).

Though the South and the West Coast were the two US regions with the most desire to break free, numbers were also high in the rest of the country.

In the northeastern United States, 34% of Americans said they want to secede from the union, with Democrats and independents at 39% and 35% respectively, while 26% of northeastern Republicans felt the same.

Meanwhile, around one-third of Americans in the mountain states want to break off from the US, with Republicans at 43%, independents at 35%, and Democrats at 17%.

Bright Line Watch described the numbers as “distressingly high,” while data journalist Christopher Ingraham

it the “most disturbing datapoint I’ve seen in a while.”

Though Ingraham noted that most of the Americans expressing support for secession are likely just “partisan signaling,” he claimed that “part of the reason support for secession is so high in the GOP is that party elites all over the country are irresponsibly ginning up passions on it.”

Ingraham’s analysis, however, did not take into consideration the high numbers of Democrats and independents across the US who also expressed support for secession.

Americans in the US heartland are apparently most satisfied, with support for secession lowest there at around 30%.
Support for secession in the US is unlikely to fall any time soon, with Bright Line Watch noting that the numbers have risen in the past six months since the January 6 storming of the Capitol by Donald Trump supporters in protest at President Joe Biden’s election.

The most notable secession in US history took place in the 1860s, when the southern states of South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Texas, Alabama, Virginia, Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, and North Carolina broke off from the union and formed the Confederate States of America – sparking the American Civil War.

Tell them that doing so would cause their income
tax to surge by over 50% (to fund campaign against federal government) and the percentage would plummet to zero.

The administration sanctioned Chen Dong, Yang Jianping, Qiu Hong, Lu Xinning, Tan Tieniu, He Jing, and Yin Zonghua, who Blinken said were "Deputy Directors of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (LOCPG)." The top US diplomat described the office as China's "main platform for projecting its influence in Hong Kong and has repeatedly undermined the high degree of autonomy promised for Hong Kong in the Sino-British Joint declaration."

The recent increase in terror attacks on security personnel and foreigners has already raised concern in government circles. Wednesday’s

terrorism could not be ruled out. However, Red Zone insiders have been able to piece together details of the attack which explains the initial confusion that was reflected through contradictory statements. The convoy of four cars had left the gated compound for the site early on Wednesday morning. The lead car carried security personnel which was followed by two buses with Chinese on board.

As this convoy came onto the road that was open to traffic, another car manoeuvred itself between the convoy. This vehicle was laden with explosives. The driver then rammed the car into the first bus and there was an explosion. However, the detonator malfunctioned and the explosives did not go off with full force. The driver of the second bus, on seeing the bus in front of him hit, tried to swerve but lost control and the bus plunged into the ravine, killing most people on board.

The initial confusion about the cause took place because there were no bullet holes on the vehicles and no IED was found. The bus that fell into the ravine was not hit either. It was only much later that the details were pieced together and the conclusion was reached that this was a well-planned terror attack. According to insiders, the Chinese authorities have been kept fully briefed on the facts. The body of the attacker has also been found and DNA sent for identification.
