What is with the undue desire to preserve american lives anyways? Does that same passion extend to helping defenseless Iraqis, Iranians, and in the last week cubans who are now under the threat of iminent execution by the American war machine? No one is putting a gun to an american's head and forcing them to do drugs. American's hold the value of personal choice as one of the core tenants of thier polity, what is the issue here?
There are all kind of Yanks. Perhaps Fareed Zakaria type.

You have to spare us with your American style moral indignation dude. It's your country who has enough blood on it's hands for exacting inhumane and barbaric acts that any human beings under any normal circumstances would consider abhorrent and despicable. But the historical facts and evidence are laid bare in front of you Yankee doodles but are pretty much complicit to your country's evil deeds and most of you go to sleep with no qualms and or guilt about all the shitty things your country has been guilty of doing and are still doing this very day.

You will not get any or hardly any sympathy for your sincere call or wish for "sparing" your fellow Americans. It's clear your country will show none to us Chinese therefore it's a folly and a fool's errand to take the high road or worse, pretend that if we keep taking the high road somehow, someway it'll enlighten your fellow esteemed Americans from realizing that Chinese people deserve just as much right and the right to live and be governed under our own system free from meddling, interference and fake outrage from your crocodile concerns of "Uyghur genocide" and freedom (chaos) in Hong Kong, and territorial stealing of Taiwan that has never belonged to the U.S. since it's inception as a Republic in 1776. Here am taking the "legalist" view of only the strong makes the rule which your country at it's current iteration is able to dictate and act without repudiation or consequences. All your country's pretty and pretentious words are just that pretentious which rings hollow in the face of overwhelming evidence of atrocities, barbarism against countries it label as it's enemy.

For perspective, He is Pakistani American student.

I agree with you here, that's all I was pointing towards

Purposely suppling drugs as weapons with no real targeted strategic reason is wrong (for everyone involved), that was all

A weaker United States means less american hegemony abroad, i.e. less unilateral drone strikes in Pakistan (which would be more relevant for you) and less support for radical extremists in Xinjiang (more relevant for me as my family is from there, btw I have muslims in my family too).

This brings up a point. America proclaims itself to be a democracy and representative of its citizens. If we are to assume that both china and US have committed and continue to commit genocide in the past, then according to the US's own logic (irrespective of what China thinks) the Americans people (including all men, women, elderly who are citizens) should be directly and personally be held liable for all crimes committed in history, because they approved of them by electing those people into government. US always harbours fantasies about "liberating my family" from the "oppressive CCP", then surely chinese people can't be at fault for any of these crimes.

From this logic, punishment against the US people for past wrongs is justified, moral, and proportional.

It might be wrong, and China probably wouldn't ever consider it. Even though the US likes to portray CCP as some sort of evil entity, CCP from its founding just doesn't engage in such unorthodox way and tactic against its enemies.

However, the sentiment of some members here is understandable. As why should China help the US when the US is actively trying to destroy China. Biden is asking China to cooperate everything from climate, NK, nuclear proliferation, global tax reform illicit drugs etc but at the same it is doing everything to undermine China and Chinese interests.

In addition, I don't think CIA would mine to use drugs as a weapon against China if it were given a chance to do so. Just look at Latin America, Afghanistan, and Golden triangle, CIA is deeply involved in drug trade and pop up whatever dictators it needed. It is just sad that the US has been able to get away with it because it controlled the MSM and the narrative.

Beside, the US can't eradicate drugs as the demand is so high. IF there is money to be made, then there are be supplies. Furthermore, the painkillers created the opioid crisis but those who made a fortune just got away with it by paying a few billions of fines. It is a sad state of affair. There is no justice.

We dont need to speculate, the CIA HAS used drugs to undermine other countries in the past. China on the other hand has shown tiem and time again that it is willing to kill drug traffickers, especially its own citizens with no remorse as it knows the harmful nation-ending impacts of drugs.

On the other point, there is justice because taking the drugs is voluntary in the US. We might say there is no discipline, but we can't actually say there is no "justice" in the legal term of the word. Again, like you point out, there are producers who have been fined.
