They're no strangers to propaganda and hate speech, China needs remind them that and hit back hard.
First of all, there are always exceptions or surprises, we should look the overall performance than a single battle.
Regarding the performance of US army against an equal opponent. Let's take a closer look at this particular battle. If we look at the statistic, the victory is not glorious at all. At best it is a miserable victory. The victory is significant in achieving its objectives but that is not the point in debate. The debate is about the performance of the US army. In this battle it was a total disaster considering their materialist advantage.

- Germany and Italy were far outnumbered both in manpower and firepower.
- In a desert environment, there is not much terrain to help the less numbered side.
- Yet, look at the casualties and POW. The performance of Rommel and Germany is far superior than the US, UK and France.

I disagree. When both the Chinese defense ministry and foreign ministry warned privately about Bangladesh of joining the Quad. I don't believe it is a coincidence. The Bangladesh PM said that the Chinese ambassador regretted for his remarks but it is all from the Bangladesh side. Chinese media or ambassador have not formally issued any statement. That only means that the Chinese government doesn't want to escalate the situation.
In addition, the ambassador didn't only talk about Quad. He also mentioned about the fact that China has offered to donate 500,000 doses of vaccines since early Feb but Bangladesh only formally requested China to send them until April 30. The ambassador also said that Bangladesh can't expect China to make 40-50 million doses of vaccines commercially available to Bangladesh all of sudden and Bangladesh needs to wait in line and not only making the demand on the last minute until India refused to send Bangladesh vaccines.
My conclusion is that the Chinese ambassador didn't just slip his tone.

You forget that there is a common game of "red face and white face" in Chinese idiom or "good cop and bad cop" in the west. There are lots of politicians speaking "wrongly" and later making "apologies". Do you really believe that their "apologies" are sincere? Do you really believe their "wrong" was slip of lips in the first place? In most cases, the "wrong" was intentional to say the true demand, the "apology" is merely to deescalate and give both sides paths to walk away.
About "fantasies about BD wanting to join the Quad". You need to understand that in a western styled democracy, the country is NOT ONE entity (like a person), it is a mixture of many minds and interests. Nobody here fantasies that Bangladesh want to join the Quad because there is no single entity "Bangladesh" to begin with, it is many political factions in the mix of the power circle, some of them certainly want to join Quad, some others don't. Members here are targeting the first faction who has to be warned loud and clear.
A perfect example is Czech Republic. The senate chairman went to Taiwan. The president soon come out to praise the relationship with China. What does Czech want to do or say? Who is Czech here? Is the president or the senate chairman incompetent?

Why did they waited for Indian vaccines instead?
Politics. India has very strong influence in Bangladesh. India demanded Bangladesh not to accept donated vaccines from China or procure vaccines from China. In return, Bangladesh was promised 2 million doses of donation and favorable contract and fast delivery.
Tbh I’d prefer that they keep waiting for Indian vaccines.
after all that China has done for them they’re still wanting to play politics and create a diplomatic incident?
