Really, if china acted as the soviets to the Iranians PVA, perhaps Chinese stealth fighters could operate NOC in Iranian airspace and fire anti ship ballistic missiles to destroy a few US naval ships and carriers. I think people are missing the plot.
-A brutal trade war, because US insecurity, that harmed the country conglomerates.
-The forced Plaza Accord that caused long lasting economic damage.
-The decimation of the country semiconductor industry in favor of US companies.
-The literally military colonization of Okinawa that put that island people at risk in the event of a war.
-A forced export control debacle that along with Europe it will cost billions to companies in the long term.

That doesn't mean that countries have to be US enemies but countries have to be really careful dealing with the US, be pragmatic and grounded in reality.
