Actually, Buddhists in India had to fight as well and may in fact have preceded the Sikhs in this.

The term hindu was invented by the British to label anyone in the occupied territories who wasn't Muslim, Christian, or Jew. Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Sanatani, Shaivi, Vaishnavi, and I dunno how many countless others, all fell under the hindu category. The Sanatani (whom you'd associate with a typical hindu today) were the most powerful among them and found it to their advantage to claim all as their own.

Jains, Sikhs, and Buddhists successfully fought for their religious independence. The others did not succeed and are still seeking that recognition.

The upper castes of Sanatani Hinduism despised Islam because the latter offered the lower castes an escape from perpetual slavery. Why be a low caste Hindu (born to serve the Brahmin) when you can be a Muslim without any caste, especially one who is protected by Muslim rulers? Even today, bigoted Indian Hindus call local Muslims as low caste convert as a derogatory slur.

Sanatani hate for Islam exploded in the 17th century when the Muslim Mughal emperor Aurangzeb prohibited feudalism and actually managed to accomplish it within a short time. This was catastrophic for the caste system and deprived the upper castes of much of their power.

Persian has never been used as Islam's sacred language. Even in Persia itself and among Persian rulers where Persian was the court/official language, Arabic was the language employed for theology.
So what happened in the end? Why didn't it have the same level of resistance on being coopted by Hinduism like Sikhism or Islam?

The seething caused by Aurangzeb says a lot.

I've heard that India is pushing forward with a Hindu nationalist agenda. What are your thoughts on such policies?
Don't compare China and India; they're completely incomparable. Does a backward theocratic social system deserve to be compared to China's?
I have the lowest of the low opinions about religion. If they are genuinely going that way then they deserve every mess coming their way.

Obsession with religion is the worst thing that happened to South Asia. Instead of looking at the future, people there are still talking about fairy tales that happened thousands of years ago. It‘s no surprise that the place is a third world shit hole.

India should indeed learn from China when it comes to cracking down on dinosaur ideologies but that takes an entirely new political system.

You pacify regions by giving them jobs and help them better integrate into society at large, if all you do is send soldiers without alleviating any of the problems you will just get more people dissatisfied with your rule. The problem with this for India is that they don't even have enough jobs for Hindus let alone religious minorities.

Also, India is closer with Afghanistan than Pakistan is lol. By your logic Pakistan should be given all of Kashmir.

Standards of living in India nor Pakistan are good at all, most of them just work as farmers. Theres also no reason why an Indian would be better than a Pakistani to get along with.

What China did with Islam is the exact same it did with every other religion. Stop spreading racist propaganda. imagine how you would feel if someone said: "A lot of folks are very blind to what Blacks are really up to, they think it's another race they can just ignore"

China controls Islam like it does with any other religion. In fact, it doesn't even recognize Hinduism lol, you want the rest of the world to not recognize Hinduism as well? :p
The people who got caught plotting terror attacks are doctors. They had jobs. The problem with Islam is like a brain disease where people become miserable as hell and then take it out on other people. You guys stay in your Chinese bubble even while living in the west and have no idea about other cultures. That‘s why I see a lot of dumb posts here. I had friends who went deeper and deeper into Islam radicalization pipeline. It started off by hating on women not covering themselves from head to toe, then to stop drinking alcohol then even giving up on music. Now imagine living without talking to women, having fun, listening to music etc. These people become miserable and frustrated as hell and then they finally take it out on other people.

Whatever we usento critisice India, Pakistan is worst at it.

Being black is not a choice but believing in a fairy tale to the point of acting like a drug addict is a choice.

i don‘t care about Hinduism as well. If it were up to me, I would ban it myself. Hinduism is a problem in India while Islam is a problem all over the world.

Buddhists didn't have separate territorial claims; they had claims only on religious structures and small parcels of lands considered holy but these were lost to Brahmin lordships. The south Indian Hindu sects had land claims but they were weak politically and very destitute financially.

Looks like round 2 confirmation

So I guess it's really does come down to politics and hard power in the end.

Religions keep saying they know something beyond humanity and into the realm of the divine. Yet in the end they still have act like tribalism.

Trump be like "President Xi and I are good friends and we just had a great meeting, the best. You want me to talk shit about him you're going to have to pay up, and I don't even seen any of that 500 billion from last deal with Japan."

Perhaps he has been perusing his grand daughter’s signed copy of “Governance of China Volume One”?

Yeah, I don't find this convincing at all. If the Americans are doing this grand plan to confront China, then why have their main military actions this year been aimed at Yemen, Iran, and now Venezuvela? Sure, you're going to have think tanks come up with fancy ideas, but these are rarely acted upon, and are often unworkable to begin with. Hell, most political leaders barely even pay any attention to them.

In this particular example, I doubt that the US has some sort of strategy for blockading China. It may have been an effective move 15 years ago, but the time has long passed for that kind of thing. More importantly, while there are certain players in the US who are interested in a war against China, the key part of this strategy requires that China be seen as the aggressor. A blockade is already an act of war, so it just fit.
The idea of blockading China who has land borders with Russia and ME, not to mention China being the 5th largest oil producer itself is just Reddit level IQ, and that's not even getting into how US who themselves are isolated from Euroasia and actually dependant on imports can survive a counter blockade from China. If US military actually invests in it it says more about the competency of US strategic planning than anything else.

I don't think you can model US behaviour using China's way of thinking. European culture and it's US and Isarel spawns has an intrinsic, instinctive, religious desire to attack and steal, they can't help it, it's not the result of rational planning, it's just their nature and what they wake up wanting to do.

The reason they're going after everyone else instead of China is because China wil make them feel pain, while Yemen and Venezuvela appeares to be painless, American instint requires them to steal but American instinct also don't want to experience pain. There is no 6D chess being played, they're not seeing 10 steps ahead, they're just moving on instinct.

Dealing with the west is really like dealing with an animal, the animal will always want to bite you, there's no reasoning with it, but the animal is also afraid of pain and the animal don't really do much planning like a human does. So the way you deal with it shouldn't be to become an animal yourself, the way you deal with it should be to avoid engagement while teaching it to associate bad behavior with pain, over and over, until it's drilled into the animal's instinct. That's all.
