Yes, China will only withdraw the provisions after October 9th, not before it. Bessent made some premature statement publicly which will come back to haunt him later.

Nigeria and Mali need more MRAPs and other arms exports from China urgently.

Nexperia is fully Wingtech right now, Wingtech has both wafer and packaging, they're the one shipping to customers and receiving revenue for them. The Dutch is the one that, after their takeover, ceases to receive revenue from the real Nexperia making actual sales.

The Dutch simply giving back shares and Nexperia Europe resuming operations, i.e. going back to before the Dutch move would not be the ideal outcome. Nexperia is in a field that has a lot of fully Chinese competitors, keeping Nexperia's European plants open is a previlage China extended to them, not something in China's interest. After the Dutch move China's goal should be to punish Europe, not to return to the status-quo and let them get away with it, if a thief broke into your house and stole something you planned on throwing out, your goal isn't to get the stuff back but to punish the theif.

IMO the ideal outcome is Nexperia China become/remain as it is currently a fully independent entity, Nexperia Europe gets fully cut off, Wingtech writes off European assets but make up for it by dumping all liabilities, pensions, debts and operating expenses for European plants onto the Dutch taxpayers. All Nexperia business going forward stays within China, European Nexperia dies, Nexperia becomes fully 100% Chinese with no European containmation.

I would also like to see China sanction anyone who tries to buy the stolen assets from the Dutch goverment after they're forced to sell to maximize puinishmnt on the Dutch people.
Well the White House just posted that lifting export of Nexperia chips from China is part of the U.S.-China deal, but no apparent concession from the Dutch side.

China to grant export exemptions to eligible shipments after comprehensive review: MOFCOM on Nexperia-related issues

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said on Saturday that it will grant export exemptions to eligible shipments after a comprehensive review of the circumstances of companies, in response to questions about Nexperia, the semiconductor company owned by Chinese tech company Wingtech.

"As a responsible major country, China takes into full account the security and stability of domestic and global supply chains," the spokesperson added. We welcome companies facing real difficulties to reach out to the Ministry of Commerce or local commerce authorities.
China basically said "if you're about to die, and we will verify that you are about to die, we will allow you can beg, and if you dance to our tune (i.e. no resell, stockpile, disclose customer list, etc), and tell us everything we want to know, we might give you scraps to survive"

Instead of a ban it's now strict export control just like RE, actually even harsher than RE because this only apply to companies in real trouble, lol

Dutch doesn't need to conceed, Nexperia is already fully Chinese, Dutch Nexperia is already fully cut off with zero revenue, it's in China's interest to maintain this situation so 1 - Nexperia Europe dies, and 2 - China gain another lever to control western companies.

Can you be more specific? I though all of the sanctions on European lawmakers have been lifted, but not vise versa.
Europe sanctioned 4 Chinese person and one entity, China sanctioned 10 Eurotards. Lifting sanctions on the MEPs reduced the number to 5.

On 22 March 2021, the People's Republic of China (PRC) announced sanctions on 10 individuals and 4 entities in the EU, including Members of the European Parliament and of the Council's Political and Security Committee,

Targets of the 22 March sanctions included four Chinese individuals and one entity connected to the reported mass detention and persecution of the Uyghur ethnic minority in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region

Good to know, but they are now lifted as a sign of Beijing’s goodwill attempt, but the original sanctions on four Chinese officials and one entity remain in place.

I think both sides lifted the sanctions reciprocally before the 50th anniversary of EU-China relationship?

There should have posts discussing it at the time but good luck finding them.
