On May 6, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian presided over the regular press conference. A reporter asked, "It has been reported that China and the European Parliament have mutually lifted restrictions on exchanges. Can you confirm this?"
Lin Jian responded, "In recent years, legislative exchanges between China and the EU encountered some setbacks due to well-known reasons. Under the current circumstances, both sides agree that strengthening dialogue and cooperation between China and Europe is of great importance."
"Following mutual consultations, China and the European Parliament have decided to simultaneously and fully lift all restrictions on bilateral exchanges. We believe and expect that with the full resumption of legislative interactions between China and the EU, mutual communication and understanding will deepen further, injecting new momentum into the sustained, healthy, and stable development of China-EU relations."
