China doesn’t let emotions distract it from making the best decisions for China.

Yes, the Europeans are arrogant white supremacists with rapidly waning power. But that doesn’t mean China should push them into America’s corner needlessly.

Unlike the Americans, China prefers to keep its potential enemies divided and potential for as long as possible, instead of needlessly making them into a united forced firmly against you.

Furthermore, China is a firm believer in not telegraphing your intentions needlessly early to allow your opponent more time to prepare than absolutely necessary. The Europeans are lazy and arrogant and declining, but they still command a massive population pool with significant inheritance in industry, technology and material wealth. If they get scared enough to arm up in a proper way, they can put up a significant fight. Why give them that opportunity?

If the Europeans unwisely side with America in a hot war against China, that is when China will unleash the floodgates of lethal aid to Russia, with a massive side helping of PLA frontline combat divisions.

Unless and until that happens, China is more than happy for the Europeans to continue to burn through their arms and ammo stocks making the Russians more and more angry. Which in turn creates greater deterrence against the Europeans getting involved in a hot war against China in the first place.

The best outcome is to not have to fight a war to get what you want. Because war is expensive in both lives and treasure. Even if the PLA can achieve a 100-1 kill ration against the Europeans, how many Chinese families would have to grieve the loss of sons and fathers to chew through the millions of conscripts the Europeans could theoretically press gang to the front, Ukraine style? How much money would be wasted killing then that could instead have been used to improve the lives of countless Chinese citizens? China is only in the position it is today because it has the wisdom and discipline to not take the easy road to instant gratification of war to solve all its problems and challenges as the west had.

I'm pretty sure the Romulans were Chinese and Klingons were Soviet though admittedly I don't watch much.

The Romulans had the totalitarian + cheater stereotype that you could see from a mile away and they were seen as implacable while Klingons were redeemable but crude.

There should have been pre-delivery payments, with a final payment upon delivery. But that’s not the main point and I think most people missed one thing about these contracts.

Most commercial contracts should have a Force Majeure clause, since this situation is outside of airline’s control, Boeing technically have no recourse other than to repurpose the aircrafts or leave them to rot. However, if the airlines keeps the orders for planes that are ready for delivery in place, they technically should be able to demand delivery at any point in time in the future, with a relatively reasonable lead time, ones the obstacles are removed.

This will create logistical uncertainty for Boeing, and if the time is too long and the plane model is no longer available they can technically demand a full refund with penalty depending on the contract, since Boeing can no longer fulfill its part of the contract. Tho all this will depend on negotiations and court judgements.

Direct involvement isn't necessary for Ukraine. Something as simple as preventing drone components from reaching Ukraine would be crippling. Can't believe I forgot about this but Ukraine is literally antagonizing China when one of their lifelines is coming from China with respect to these drone components. Regardless, Ukraine is screwing around with China's sovereignty while reaping benefits from relations with China.

Nothing prevent companies in eu countries from buying these drone components and then moving them to Ukraine. And it is likely what is happening anyway. I doubt china is supplying ukraine with drone components directly. These are not euv machines where only 5 copies maybe sold per year and can be tracked how they are being used.

Zelensky is trying to curry favor with Trumpo by inserting themselves in the anti-China discourse, so it should tell you where their priority lies.

It isn't that suprising though as it was Zelensky himself who torpedoed the Motor Sich contract to please the US way before the war started

The rare earths export ban is a template for how drone components being sent to Ukraine can be stopped. There's bound to be smuggling but the decrease in throughput will still be crippling.

Why feel bad, that airline has been having all kinds of midair accidents due to greedy cost cutting. If they cannot provide the top of the line safety like they are supposed to, then screw those bastards, they get what they deserve
