Pretty meaningless gesture, China wouldn't need to impose a sanction to do the same. Also just cause the Ireland's senate passed a call for sanctions, doesn't mean Ireland actually enacted the sanctions.
When the west does something that seems too good to be true, always assume it's virtue signaling or something.

Everything is focused more on soundbytes over actual action.

This is basically China's subtle way of saying that they don't want to impose official sanctions on Israel since Israel has been a good partner but at the same time don't approve of Israel's war crimes either.

From that article, "Interestingly, no new forms or paperwork have been introduced by Chinese authorities or companies, however, concerned bodies are simply enforcing regulations that were previously ignored." This is brilliant. Rather than publicly antagonizing Israel and backing it into further into a corner, this move has a meaningful impact and sends a clear message while allowing Israel to save some face.

Who's gonna pay for the blood and resources? Resources that are sorely needed for the upcoming Sino-Americana war.
If spilling blood and burning treasure is too extreme for our liking then why not sanction Israel? Anything is better than doing nothing. The problem is, nothing besides empty words and platitudes is being done.

Because any slight public action will lead to a severe overreaction by the Americans. The Europeans are not going to overtly cross the US redlines neither will the US harshly react due to their geopolitical relationship. So the US gov will likely push for sanction on Chinese officials and congress will be going ballistic on anti-Chinese mccarthyism type of legislation. Diplomatic relations could easily be staring towards the void depending on their reaction.

Side note. If Trump wins and the rumors are true. You do not want the anti-China guy whispering into Trump ear to turn into a religious fanatic anti-China hawk. That could easily spiral into a catastrophe over the ROC.

Sources close to Trump claim Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas is quickly becoming a top contender for the role, according to a Friday report from the outlet.

The three sources — who remained unnamed in the report — said Trump values Cotton's reliability and clear communication of policy.

Why China be the one that has to do something? What have the Palestinians’ most powerful Arab brothers (Saudi, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt) and other Muslim brothers (Indonesia, Malaysian etc) done so far? Iran can rain ballistic missiles and UAVs on Israel from Day One, yet it only took a token action after its embassy got bombed, and it gave Israel ample warnings.

China has enough problems of its own. When China was down, who was there to help it? If anything people who were supposed to be friends took advantage of it's weakness. Notice how USA only stepped into the war for China in 1941 after Japan was already held off? China for most part only had itself to rely on but now everyone expects it to help others who won't help themselves? Such entitlement.

Here's a quote from Stalin:
To slow down means to fall behind. And the retards are beaten. But we don't want to be beaten. No, we don't! The history of old Russia consisted, among other things, in the fact that she was constantly beaten for her backwardness. Beat the Mongol khans. Turkish beks beat. Beat the Swedish feudal lords. They beat the Polish-Lithuanian pans. The Anglo-French capitalists fought. Beat the Japanese barons. They beat everyone - for backwardness. For military backwardness, for cultural backwardness, for state backwardness, for industrial backwardness, for agricultural backwardness. They beat me because it [c.38] was profitable and got away with impunity. Remember the words of the pre-revolutionary poet: “You are poor, you are rich, you are powerful, you are powerless, Mother Rus'”[17]. These gentlemen have memorized these words of the old poet well. They beat and said: “you are abundant” - therefore, you can profit at your expense. They beat and said: "You are miserable, powerless" - therefore, you can beat and rob you with impunity. Such is the law of the exploiters - to beat the backward and weak. Wolf law of capitalism. You are behind, you are weak - it means you are wrong, therefore, you can be beaten and enslaved. You are powerful - it means you are right, therefore, you must beware.

While a Trump Cotton presidency may lead to conflict, even war, it's probably still better because both are incompetent.

It's not out of desire to be hegemon, it's the decent thing, the humanitarian thing to do. Why should we tolerate a genocide happening in front of our eyes? Are Palestinians not people, not human beings? Inaction here goes beyond risk aversion, it's cowardice.
If China went in guns blazing every time the US or one of its mutts did something inhumane, we would have blown our wad 50 times already. Xi is the president of China, not the president of Palestine or the Muslim Brotherhood or the President of Humanity and all Good. His job is to decide the best course of action for the Chinese people. The best course of action was deemed to be to continue biding our time and growing our might, letting these distractions eat away from our enemies; even if we are peer to the West and we can stop them, we wait if we can until we are an overmatch for them because that is what will save Chinese lives instead of a peer fight, even one that we win. We're not here to sacrifice Chinese soldiers to save Palestinians; it's not worth it. Their lives are for defending their own homeland and the interests of their countrymen. So sorry if Palestinians are being genocided by Isreal by the thousands; that's not Xi's job to prevent. It's Xi's job to make sure Chinese interests are looked after, that the West is deterred from conflict with China and failing that, they lose any conflicts they enter with us. It's the Palestinian's jobs to defend themselves; it's the job of their Muslim brother countries to defend their fellow Muslims. They spent their time praying and pissing off when they should have been studying military/nuclear engineering preparing and building machines to fight and defeat the Isrealis. Now they are screwed because their "god" won't save them and that's entirely on them, not China.

We had a conversation before with resulted in you admitting that your standards for China were purposefully set unrealistically high in hopes that that would cause it to always improve. It doesn't work. Nobody knows about your standards or cares to hold themselves to it; the only effect you have is that Westerners who read your posts see a Chinese calling China a coward.

We are not the world police; making other countries behave in a humanitarian manner is not our job. Our job is to make China the most powerful country in the world.
