More than 86 per cent of the ‘Made in China 2025’ have been achieved

In 2015, China set out on an ambitious 10-year plan – dubbed “

” – to achieve self-reliance, innovation and strength in the manufacturing industry within 10 years.

But during that time, a

with the United States has done its best to stop China crossing off its list of goals. Now, with only eight months left until 2025, the South China Morning Post has investigated China’s progress.

When the plan was first set out, most cars on Chinese roads were from Western carmakers, and the sky was dominated entirely by aircraft made by American company Boeing or European Airbus. Many Chinese factories could not operate without imported machine tools. Chips, operating systems, and software in computers and mobile phones were mostly sourced from the US. Even the databases used by banks relied on multinational corporations for coding and maintenance.

Back then, China stood at the lower end of the global industrial value chain, producing mostly cheap and technically backward products. Made in China 2025 sought to change that, allowing Chinese manufacturing, through scientific and technological advancements, to produce high-quality, hi-tech and high-value products.

In 2018, then-US president Donald Trump tried to upset China’s plan by

on China.

But based on official books published a decade ago and other authoritative sources, the Post has compiled more than 260 goals previously proposed under the plan. These goals span 10 key areas, many involving highly specialised and complex technologies.

And the analysis confirms that more than 86 per cent of these goals have been achieved, with some others likely to be completed later this year or next. Meanwhile some of the targets, such as

Mistake after mistake in the US piles up literally on a daily basis, you can't even keep track of them anymore.

Indonesia is 7th country in the world in GDP PPP and will likely keep on rising. Close to 300 million people, and a very strategic geography.

Hmmmm, the USA and by extension Israel had better watch out, because those who are afraid of a world were being an American or Jew might end up living in a world where being even mentioned is akin to an insult or a curse that is not welcome anywhere for threats of violence might be just around the corner given how insane their actions are now becoming. Is that is what is required to teach them to respect others, because the lesson is bound to have some really painful cost associated with it. Just putting it out there because they are really blind to the consequences to the point of utter ridiculousness, I mean killing children and babies is wrong, yet the western media sanction and ban anyone that tries to point this common sense out, is it me or did I take an equivalent of a crazy pill.

@ansy1968 Your country needs have its head some serious checking. With all the advances in generative AI that'll more likely than not to accelerate the elimination of jobs in places like call centres; persistent food insecurity (rice imports), higher prices in electricity not to mention persistent power disruption so much so that the oligarch owner of the country's premiere power company MERALCO wants the gov't to approve COAL POWER PLANTS. Why? Well duh!! It's the most abundant source and cheapest source of power generator.

There are many pressing needs that the PH must absolutely tackle but it's being hijacked, I might add willingly by the very people supremely confident of their misguided assumption of superiority over China which is a massive LOL...

Great interview by Assad!
Western politicians are focused on their personal careers, they no longer care about the interests of their countries. Their media create a virtual reality that works to destroy the family, atomizing and isolating of a person from his surroundings.

Well it's already happening to the Jews (yet again), even the ones who are against Israel. There has been a massive increase in hate crimes against Jews in the West since October, everywhere from the public to the school campuses. A Jewish friend who works at a local university says that the Jewish students are terrified, trying to avoid being in public, all their events that are normally open to public (like Seder at Passover) are now in seclusion, behind closed doors. "Right now is not a good time to be a Jew" << his words.
