There's a good reason for thatWhy do so many Indians go straight for calling for a boycott when their feelings get hurt? They have no buying power and I doubt Disney expects to make any money from that movie in India. I rarely see Americans and Chinese call for boycotts and they have magnitudes more buying power.
1. Indian Freedom movement was defined through boycotts and protests. Gandhi during Non Cooperation Movement and Civil Disobedience Movement spearheaded boycott of British goods and institutions. Every child studies about it in school so its basically ingrained in Indian folks.
2. Indians through decades of brainwashing have come to believe that they're an cultural/economic giant and that the world cant ignore them anymore. Hence the collective resolve of 1.2 billion ppl will force any country/company to bend the knee.
So basically delusional nationalism on steroids.
