There was a rumor a year back of how they were building a platform with Chinese-made and designed CPUs.

Paris shootings and explosions near Stade de France kill 18
least 18 people have been killed in several shootings in the French capital, Paris, as well as explosions at the Stade de France.

At least one man opened fire with an automatic gun at the Petit Cambodge restaurant in the 11th district.

Shooting has also been heard near the Bataclan arts centre with reports of hostages have been taken there.

Three explosions are also reported outside a bar near the Stade de France, where France were hosting Germany.

Reports say French President Francois Hollande was watching the match and has been moved to safety.

Let's wait and see. When I heard about shooting in a restaurant I had thoughts that this might be a gang war (those things happened in Italy and Poland years ago). Gangsters wouldn't take hostages as it's reported now - that means a lifetime in prison and they aren't so stupid. But if that's an act of Muslim terrorism that might be a turning point in the history of Europe.

The latest I heard is at least 26 people dead and maybe about 100 hostages. This is going to take some time to play out to understand the scale of the problem. Presumably a separate thread will be created to track this development.

PARIS (AP) — Two police officials say that at least 26 people have been killed in shootings and explosions around Paris, in the deadliest violence in France in decades. One of the police officials said 11 people were killed in a Paris restaurant in the 10th arrondissement and about 15 killed in the Bataclan theater, where a hostage-taking is under way. Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to be publicly named according to police policy. Yahoo News is tracking the latest developments in the live blog below.
