What's with the US air force attracting all the lunatics? Though I suppose there is something to be said about the popular rhetoric even ordinary people like to throw around these days, if the tweet below is any indication. Jingoistic chest thumping seems to be in vogue, now.

> spend 60 trillion in public funding, of which 10 million makes it to the way to the actual program and the rest into oligarch pockets

> program predictably produces a dog turd

> sigint from China intercepts the blueprints of the lockheed martin dog turd 3000

> blueprints assessed by government

> "there has been some new threats from America recently, do we need to raise the budget?"

> "no"

Nope. Based on what I have read and heard from actual US military veterans and personal and past, but now deleted, posts and the livestream from @Patchwork_Chimera who quite literally talked about this issue, unlike their political counterparts, the US military is taking the Chinese extremely seriously. Aside from that, in regards to motivation, motivation and espirit de corps are huge morale multipliers because they drive military personal to do courageous and/or sometimes brutal things to their enemies. For example, the PLA's conflicts in Korea and Vietnam, and the second Sino- Japanese war all showed how motivation and spirit maintained unit cohesion and allowed them to continue to stay in the fight.
With lots of Allies backing them up in both of those conflicts and considering the time past until now, yes they may have a similar sense of bravery and brutality as back then or maybe not due to the presence of all these problems with cohesion that quite frankly is a growing problem along with recruitment difficulties

In the end, this will ultimately amounts to nothing unless they have enough forces to back them up in an actual fight and comparing the US military to what it was in the past to now will show a stark contrast that is hard to ignore. If they were so brave about taking China and Russia at the same time with the current stockpiles they have along with a bunch of Allies they have all but spent there military gear in this conflict in Ukraine, then the leadership must be on drugs because even the pentagon is in no true rush to get into a fight so quick without the necessary stockpile and supply chain issues addressed along with having enough man power since nowadays, most of the military personnel should be quite aware of how well the USA treats its combat veterans which to be quite honest, sucks a lot, which does help to explain a little why recruitment issues are mounting

Italy actually does matter but there is really nothing China can do if they want to cool down relations. It was done at the American request. Usual smoking gun evidence for that is a false justification. Their minister blamed BRI for the Italian trade deficit with China, which can't be true because BRI is no trade deal.

What China finding out is most of the developed which are aligned with the USA are actually complicit with Pax Americana. China needs a multi-decade plan to fracture and weaken this group.

1- Needs to decrease exposure slowly, only granting market access to friends
2- Cooperation with the developing world must be expanded, including political ties. This is not emotional third-worldism. These countries already make up half of Chinese trade and they are growing faster than the West, especially non-US West. "Friend-shoring" is a delusion.
3- Cultural exports. Over decades their effect can win friends.
Can you explain why Italy matters, especially pertaining to China? All I'm seeing is a rapidly aging western european country who is overflowing with migrants. Italy's political system is a mess, its GDP has stagnated for the past 20 years and it is not competitive on the world stage except in fashion.

What does Italy offer to China that is so important? What has Italy really done for China since Marco Polo and the Jesuits?

It is a country with a GDP of 2 trillion USD. That is some substantial trade potential there. Any cooperation is good for both sides unless there is exploitation and Italy is rather more significant than an average country. The mentality that only US and China matter is wrong.

Italy monthly exports comparable to Japan. some of Italian exports will be integrated into other European products so not visible to outside world. Any one using Safran or GE products most likely will have Italian content. you may also want look into pharmaceuticals and research publications. it has Italians names. i meant Italian in Italy. not the Italian origin people in France or US that a very substantial number. The real uncompetitive people are the North Europeans who constantly need talent from outside. recently i read that 50% of Nokia hires were non Finn in Finland and this there standard industry.
