It won't be the first time a regime has tried to erase Chinese identity, and it won't turn out anymore successful than the previous attempts.

Look at HK. The only thing that it took to start counter indoctrination is to pass the NSL. The moment Taiwan reunifies, their entire education system will get overhauled.
For this reason, I’m in favour of Chinese military intervention when genocide against Chinese happens. Measured of course, death squads and pogroms against Chinese should be answered with Chinese specops.

i honestly think Lithuania is no longer a real country and merely a colonial appendage of whichever hegemon it wants to tie its leash to. Such a tragedy from the pagan defenders of Vytautas and Gediminas.
So move now while China is still behind the US in nuclear bombers, carriers and submarines and the rest of NATO is too tired to help to US or move later when China is ahead in all fields and the rest of NATO is too scared to help the US? Should be an easy choice if we forgo the, "Aaaahhhhhh it's too embarrassing! I can't take it anymore!!"
Indeed, China hasn’t forgotten things like the American attack on chinas Belgrade embassy- and after President Xi naming the United States, it’s unlikely China will let things slide, no matter how many “it was just a prank bro“ articles the NYT writes.
That will never happen.

Chinese society has always been elitist.

The upper class, has always been open to the masses, if they pass the imperial examination. Today, it is a similar system in the sense the CCP has an exam, to find the best and brightest.

Crude propaganda is not something anyone is interested in.

David Goldman of AsiaTimes.com newspapers said it best, when he said that after all that training, exam taking, and hands on work, the party official gets promoted and finally gets to met an American politician or diplomat. The Chinese cadre is shocked, because this is the dumbest person he ever met in his entire life.
That Was exactly the reaction when the Chinese trade delegation met trump‘s team which included Peter Navarro and Wilbur Ross.

Say what you want about Trump but at least he makes an effort at politeness on a personal level with people he respects.

It's a Confucian thing.

Do not forget your roots.

All this means is that the Taiwanese will not fight if mainland China invades.

Ppeople who believe in something go fight. People who believe in nothing just go disappear fading into irrelevance.

Look how easily it was to fix Hong Kong.

People there, did not like China, half of them. China made its move and it was all over. No fight at all.

That half of society who actually still believes in something will not put their butts on the line for that other half who believes in nothing.

This lack of social cohesion will not help.

Seems like a feature and not a bug in these two party political systems.

Taiwan can continue to undermine itself into a comfortable malaise.

It gets to a point where danger or risk becomes unnoticed because people are too trapped in their malaise comfort zone.

TSMC could be on it's way out, yet who even cares. They won't put up a fight.
If Taiwanese do not fight, it's not because of them "remembering their roots", it's because Liberal trolls are loud yet completely impotent cowards who's idea of a fight is spamming on western social media. What of the liberal collaborationists when the US army leaves? they would rather freefall 5000m from a C17 than to defend their supposed ideals. See the roaches in Hong Kong, absolutely worthless at anything other than spamming social media and rioting which only happened because they are allowed to. Literally the very second any authority suggests what they are doing is illegal all of them disappeared like a fart in the wind.
The answer to your response has already been given to them by their rulers. "We are a colonized Taiwanese peoples, rising up to free ourselves of both red China and blue China. Taiwan independence is anti imperialism, since China is imperialist too."

I bet you didn't see that one coming, because the logic is absurd. Yet here it is.

Absurd yes, Taiwanese have rose up but it is always against the Japanese invasion and occupation while actual Taiwanese aboriginals(not the fakeass wannabe colonials) rose up against the Japs far more frequently. But it's pointless to debate it, you will never wake someone pretending to be asleep, especially if enabled by the vast Anglo propaganda machine.

UBS CEO is so reluctantly forced to buy Credit Suisse that he is hoping the deal can be cancelled by telling staffs that not to think this is a done deal.

The fallout of $17.3 billion AT1 bonds wipeout continued with investors dumping riskiest bonds. In addition, Goldman Sachs is preparing to gather a group of bonds holders to sue Switzerland and UBS to get a payout for AT1 bonds. Normally, bonds are more senior debt than shareholders but AT1 bonds were designed to be risky and can be legally wiped out if bank capital fall to certain level. Credit Suisse is one of the biggest wealth management for wealthy Asian clients so Singapore and Hong Kong government would be on a lookout for any disruptions after Credit Suisse got bailout.

Out of mature technologies, US has those wide body Boeing large planes. Regarding the rest of mature technologies, they don't have much stuff that China didn't already master. I'm not talking about market share, but Chinese ability to produce on its own or live without American counterparts.

I'm not worried about the civilian field, look how China is technologically helping Russia get through this war in Ukraine.

Millitary field, that's when the US still has technological advantage. However, I think that China will close the gap in 2027, not in numbers, but in its ability to produce that.

But, overall I'm understanding and agreeing to your logic of waiting until your are 100% sure and are able to totally dominate with an overwhelming advantage.
OK
HOWEVER, that was the case until America didn't start provoking China that much.
You fight when you're ready to fight, not when your enemy taunts you to fight. China's red line for which action must be taken is a declaration of independence from the ROC. They can't commit to that because of the immediate destruction that would entail; short of it, China can take our time to keep reshaping the balance in our favor until we achieve Sun Tsu's ultimate victory without fighting.
At this point, American provocations are actually stalling Chinese growth
No, it's making China's growth wholesome and getting China ready to fight. Before the tech war, many of China's technologies stood on the shoulders of foreign basic science. Take that away and it's back to the drawing board for China. After this, Chinese tech will be Chinese from the ground up, impervious to sanction, completely controlled in Chinese hands. America provided excellent training for China toughening it up for conflict while if they were smarter, they could have held all of it back, reserved for war to give China too much to handle at once.
and reputation around the world.
LOL You can't handle that? It pisses you off so much that someone and his pack of dogs are talking trash about you that you need to start a war before you're ready? you've got to be joking. Don't be so easy.

Poland may end up “joining” the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine should the latter fail to protect its “independence,” the Polish ambassador to France, Jan Emeryk Rosciszewski, has said. The senior diplomat made the remarks on Saturday while speaking live to the broadcaster LCI.

Rosciszewski squarely blamed the hostilities, which have been ongoing for over a year already, on Moscow, stating that it was “not NATO, not Poland, not France and not Slovakia” that was ramping up international tensions, but Russia. According to the diplomat, the situation now is “either Ukraine will successfully defend its independence, or we will be forced, in any case, to join this conflict.”

“Otherwise, our principal values, which are the basis of our civilization and our culture, will be in fundamental danger, so we will have no choice,”
Rosciszewski stated.
Is he serious? Even if Poland went on a massive shopping spree for weapons. All that weapon is still years away from appearing in Poland in appreciable numbers. Are they already that excited to have war with Russia? Or is this another one of those Jai Poland talk?

Over the last 3 years, only 2% of Hong Kong applicants got Taiwanese resident card as the Taiwanese government is using tactical roadblocks to deny and delay granting resident card to Hong Kongers. Pretty much confirmed that these yellow rioters and useful idiots have been abandoned by Tsai.
