When I first read about this I was wondering why they were using the Hindenburg analogy.

If this were China, you know what they would be saying... I don't see them reporting the end of India on the cable news channels. They must be very conflicted since they want to make anything not Western look bad but then they need India as their non-white that follows the West to counter China.

Look at US tech companies cutting thousands of jobs each. No doom for Silicon Valley? That's what they were saying about China's Silicon Valley they said was under attack by Xi. All the Wall Street types are happy and saying wonderful things about the Chinese economy since dropping zero COVID. I thought they said China was at its end.

HK BNOs wrote a letter to the UK Home Secretary over repressive anti-protest laws :D:D:D. I'd love them to try invading the parliament there. I genuinely wonder how the UK will react to that.

Hongkongers in Britain have called on Suella Braverman to reconsider controversial measures in her public order bill, which they likened to the repressive measures used to crack down on democratic opposition in their home city.

In a letter to the UK home secretary, aspects of the bill were described as “repressive measures that threaten to paralyse entire social movement” and posed a threat to their right to protest in Britain, including against Chinese communist repression in Hong Kong.

Many of us are, or represent and work with, Hongkongers who have recently arrived in the UK in the hopes of a better life for ourselves and our loved ones – where we can exercise our rights and freedoms without fear,” says the letter, sent on behalf of groups and communities comprising Hongkongers and east and south-east Asian people.

“In effect, SDPOs appear to be a kind of open-air prison for people simply seeking to exercise their rights,” they claimed, referring to the new civil orders that threaten to ban named individuals – including those who have never committed a crime – from protesting. It would also subject them to curfew conditions, restrict them from using the internet in certain ways and even require them to submit to GPS tagging.

The letter was sent by Democracy for Hong Kong, a group behind protests that have drawn thousands of people in Britain, including activists at the centre of opposition activism in Hong Kong.

I really hope the McBNOs riot over this, then they can experience first hand the vast gulf between how HK and the west treats rioters.

But being the self-hating white-worshipers that they are, they will just meekly ask and shut right up and go back into their holes when the master looks at them contemptuously.

The only way they can compete with China is by lowering their superior labor standards like the high wages they like to have

That's the ironic part, they don't really have superior labor standard or high wages outside of certain high tech industries. The majority of the population lives a financial emergency away from bankruptcy and homelessness, little to no benefits outside of the paycheck, no maternity or paternity leave.

They are mostly a country sized sweatshop that pays slightly better but are in denial of it.

And the brits on the way to the pit. Imagine having less growth than a sanctioned and at war Russia.

Take #1 -
Lieutenant General Ma Yilong got a new (and kinda funny) hairstyle...

Take #2 -
Comrade Ma Yilong interview response, generally summarized:
"The United States has always been the world's largest economy in every American's memory. What we are facing now is that the size of the Chinese economy that is going to be two to three times that of the United States, and the world will be completely different. They still can't quite accept (and appreciate the fact) that China is going to be the big kid in the block."
"I think Tesla's relationship with China is generally good. Let us not forget that we are all human beings, and (we should) promote the common prosperity of the entire human society while maintaining positive cooperative relationships."

Xue Jian is the Consul General of the PRC in Osaka, Japan, hence his tweet in Japanese.

As India drives to compete with China on infrastructure development close to and around the disputed border area, an unfortunate situation has occurred. Many of the infrastructures were made haphazardly and apparently not built to the conditions of the environment. Last year alone 200 Indians died from flash flood and this year to avoid the same tragedy the government has to ask the residents to leave their homes and area for good as a result, many of the residents on this area have to evacuate from their villages that they have lived for generations.

How could this have happened with superior Indian quality control?

From the reporting:
The depth the city (Joshimath) sank from December 27, 2022 to January 8, 2023 = 5.4 cm (2.1 in)

5.4 centimeters of sinking in just 2 weeks.... that's not called subsidence. Those houses and plots of land are going to collapse very soon.

Who the hell approved such constructions in the first place? The city is also located in a region of very high seismic activity, FFS.

Workers used glue to fix British nuclear submarine reactor – media

UK Defence Minister Ben Wallace has reportedly called for an urgent investigation after The Sun revealed that a routine inspection of one of Britain’s Trident nuclear submarines found evidence of bizarrely botched repair work.

According to a detailed report by the outlet, workers allegedly used super glue to fix a number of broken bolt heads used to hold together cooling pipes in the nuclear reactor of the HMS Vanguard.

Engineers from defense contractor Babcock appear to have originally damaged the bolts, but instead of replacing the them, they simply glued the heads back on.

The Sun details that at least seven bolts, all of which held insulation in place on coolant pipes which prevent reactor meltdown, were treated this way.

They probably shipped all the spare bolts to Ukraine.
