You should have some discernment on the acceptable quality of articles to post here. There's a difference between the usual garbage in Western media and particularly rancid garbage like this.
Its weird how the US feels so threatened throwing even the kitchen sink against a totally "declining" power lol
Imagine how the US would act then if it thought China was growing
Foreign Policy is widely held in high esteem by Western media, elite and regularly hosts US establishment people.
I remember that in the past, 10 years ago, it had an acceptable quality but gradually it declined. The Trump attack against China was the big one.
Anyway, when the US establishment speaks,the world, China, and members here, pay attention. This is why we keep posting garbage articles from Washington Post, New York Times etc.
How can you formulate opinions, and have a discussion if you dont know how China's adversary thinks of China?
IMO as long as members make clear that the posted article is ridiculous then it should be ok to post it
Meh.....it reads like a victory parade and triumphalism on the strategic moves employed by Trump with the tack on support and push from Biden's Build back better sloganeering.
Reading the long winded article was a waste of time since there's nothing in the article's China and Pres.Xi criticism that I haven't read from our fellow posters on this site. As a matter of fact, the essay reads like it was ghost written by forum member that rhymes with tall and gamer.
Imagine suggesting that China's growth of 6% (according to some uncited and unverifiable real calculations the economic growth was 2%) is pathetically bad because it's no longer in the 14% growth Americans before were dismissing as fake news. The unoriginal essay wouldn't be complete without mentioning the usual "Population decline" theory that'll spell doom on China's future growth without ever acknowledging the coming 4th industrial revolution economy that will be less labour intensive workforce. I mean the venerable World Economic Forum has forecasted that the coming automation will displace close to 100 million jobs ()
For a supposed PHD in history, these people seem hell bent on providing their country’s leaders junk history and incorrect reading on the actual situation in China and the real support and standing the party of the CPC has as well as the strength of Pres.Xi's leadership capacity in leading the country realizing in achieving it's vision of a strong and prosperous China.
