The article mentions multiple times that China has no "leverage" over Lithuania so it trade moves are useless. Which is objectively true if we see the miniscule trade figures.

But what if China unofficially carries out a Cuba style embargo on them ? Ask every company that does business in China to move out of Lithuania. That will have a strong impact much more than a trade ban and create actual deterrence.

US started with Lithuania and very soon more smaller countries will join them. The big ones will stay out as they'll lose a lot. But the smaller ones (who have negligible trade with China) have nothing to lose & will join US in its endeavor. This seems to very deliberative and akin to Salami Slicing.

Once China will be quarrelling with multiple tiny nations, the global discourse will become in favour of the West and the US will push for further legitimizing TW.

To stop this, China should simple kill the process in the 1st stage by carrying out an unofficial embargo.

an embargo is easy to implement. China's predominant position in world trade and shipping business gives China big leverage: any ship called a port in Lithuania in the past three years will be refused access to China.

They aren't fake. US secondary financial sanctions isn't fake. US recognition of Taiwan isn't fake. US export controls aren't fake.

You know what, I think I am actually miss this guy.

1. He did not really know too much about the things he posted about. 90% of his points or counter-points had no meaning at all. So essentially he was harmless.

2. Everything was set in stone for him, like those tablets Mosses brought down from that mountain. Has to be true because I saw it on TV. Many threads talk about the future, and he had all the answers like Mosses. That was kind of funny. Money printing is good!

3. It was totally Alice In Wonderland. That part I am going to miss. The teachings of Lewis Carroll kind of like unique to the English speaking world, and here was a fervent believer in Alice's tea parties, especially with the guy in the hat, and the other guy in the rabbit suit.

4. Don't laugh.

Look at the White House.

It was Orange Man in Wonderland, but the great American superhero fought off his detractors, only to have the election stolen from him. Orange Man will be back.

Today is it Senile Man in Wonderland. Instead of Alice going to Hanoi, Kamala was sent there to have tea. Instead of sugar and cream, they used cane juice and Agent Orange.

It was a marvelous tea party. Do come again.

:D

Belarus-China relations will soon get the status of ‘iron brotherhood, exemplary all-round strategic cooperation and all-weather partnership'.
This is huge. isn't that the same type of relationship that China has with Pakistan?

This is kinda strange as Belarus is under Russia's influence

Hey, didn’t you hear? Orange is the new black at the White House, and the Orange man is back even before a Trump second term!

Interesting; another piece of trivia some readers may find intriguing is that a Republic of China First Lady was a Belorussian woman,

EDIT:
Also i don't hold out much hope for America considering the young blood of the USG eg the Cottons, Hawley et al appear to be demagogues and fascists as opposed to the realpolitik of Kissinger, not that the USG hasn't tried realpolitik, they're just shit at it.

It hasn't reached this stage yet. China is reserving this for any country that officially comes out and publicaly says that they recognise Taiwan as an independent country.

The way I see it, this latest move from Lithuania is just another salami-slicing move

This is the problem with that kind of thinking, usually always from the same sources.

Not pointing any fingers at another country, but keep that in mind.

There was a rebuttal to this salami slicing in the Global Times a while back.

The Chinese professor wrote that this salami slicing of Taiwan, that is the United States over-extending itself. Making moves that they cannot follow up on or sustain. They cannot back it up.

That was a good point IMHO. For example, the CCP salami sliced the South China Sea, but they backed it up with planes, missiles, and warships.

The current so called salami slicing of Taiwan, there is nothing new backing it up, just the same, but that is changing, and not in Tsai's direction.

All we have here is Alice sitting at the table sipping her tea, and the rabbit stands up and shouts, as the rabbit lifts it over his head, "Look how big my salami is!"

Just another tea party in Wonderland!

:D

This a very big deal. I mean, people here obviously know what kind of relationship Pakistan and China have. Imagine that kind of relationship now extending to Belarus.

Mind-blogging consequences for the region. Plus it is also hostile and bordering Lithuania, so that will teach them a lesson for antagonising China.

Lets see if they got any more of that courage when Chinese weaponry starts appearing to their neighborhood..
