But Chinese self-hating is just off the chart bro. I swear I see more Chinese self-hate more than other nation combined in my entire life. You go to Xiaohongshu, Zhihu, etc and nobody dare to say they love China there. It's like loving China is a sin.

People behave differently online than they would in real life.

China isn't without its share of social and economic issues, so of coure the internet becomes the place to vent for the disenfranchised and the vocal minority.

Having a deep affection for one's motherland is the default 'factory setting' for the overhwhelming majority of Chinese people (in my experience at least) that it would be somewhat odd for one to trumpet how one loves China on online forums. Then there's the thorny and somewhat muddled issue of whether 'loving China' automatically equates to 'loving the Party'.

Don't take anything anyone says online too seriously.

Just to give an update on the black boycott of all Asian businesses because a Hong Konger gas station owner in South Carolina shot and killed a young black man for stealing water and then a jury acquitted him. Apparently they're now calling on expanding the boycott to black people for not boycotting. Then you have those that are continuing relishing Asians pleading for them not to boycott. That's why Asians don't get it. Just because you plead for them not to do something, you think they won't do it as simple as that? It's like when Beijing says to the West that their actions hurt the Chinese people's feelings. Do they actually think that works making Chinese as fragile as children?

Have been using xhs for months now and I disagree. Just like every country, there are always bad apples entitled thinking they know better against their own government and their own people. It's also true that the Chinese in xhs don't dare say they love China literally, word for word, instead they wish for harmony and prosperity of their motherland or something along those lines.

Social media platforms all involve a certain degree of "information cocoons," XHS leans slightly towards liberalism politically, so the prevalence of such voices there is nothing new.,where the content you see is served based on your past browsing history. You could try blocking a few accounts that spread this kind of view and selecting "Not interested" for them in your home feed; the situation will then start to change.

His experience, he said, was primarily either as a tourist or with Kazakh Russians. I should note that the upbringing of Russians in Kazakhstan is Asian in nature, with respect for elders Steppe traditions, etc. Comparing the behavior of Russians from Asia and Russians from Russia, you can easily see the difference, and the difference is noticeable. And also If you understood Russian, you would notice the arrogant attitude of Russians towards the Chinese; this is not being a tourist, this is working. And also read their forums, websites, media, etc., mostly where ordinary people can leave opinions and comments, the Russians overwhelmingly hate the Chinese, this is already beyond the pale Personal experience. I've simply encountered hundreds of Russian-speaking people, worked with them, lived in the same dorms, and they all have the same behavior patterns. They're sometimes even worse than African migrants in Europe.
Oh, ok you're saying that because you claim to have more experience dealing with Russians, we should thus listen to your stories, and take them as general fact over a population, right? So who has met more Russians in Russia, you, or the multiple polls I cited that were done in Russia each interviewing thousands of Russians?

British Steel has been taken into public ownership in the "national interest", the government has announced.
He explained: "British Steel now belongs to the British people, and our focus is on the future: stabilising the business, backing the communities that rely on it and building a sustainable, competitive and decarbonised steel sector for the years ahead."
The business secretary Peter Kyle told Sky's

programme from Scunthorpe that an "independent process" would establish whether compensation was due to the company.
Such magnanimity indeed. Thank you for even considering throwing some scraps to China for stealing it's assets lol

Not really related and I don't like either country.

But watching Argentina knock out England in the world cup was glorious. England was so close leading 1-0 parking the bus until the 8x minute. Then Argentina scored 1 goal and the another in the 90+2 minute knocking then out 2-1. And they rubbed it in saying the Falklands belong to Argentina.

Talk about choking again. It's not coming home lads.

Its still a startup that's still in the R&D stage and you Jai Hinds start talking about taking on the Chinese EV motor industry? Gotta love that confidence.

His description is not entirely accurate, but it kinda sounds like a Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM). That's far from new technology, and it's not yet a common EV motor due to vibration challenges. China also happens to be a leading producer. Jai Hind!

Basically the same principle as any of the millions of these scams, just a modicum more sophisticated and polished.

"on zhihu, you can even be patriotic"

whilst i agree that info cocoon and vocal minority phenomenons exist folks there are less venting or having disagreement, more of "maliciously retarded".
