OR... Amazing American Dream wealth creation
Stock up 400%
When it IPO'd it had a $4 billion valuation... for shoes. I assume the shoes got people off every 50 steps or something...

This almost failed company had 2 chances to make you money... even in failure

This is a really sad story, and one of many signs of just unhinged the Wall Street stonks-go-up AI craze has become. Allbirds started off with a compelling brand identity and at the time put some real thought into its products and branding. I met the guys who engineered the textiles for their first few seasons, and we had a fascinating technical exchange about the efforts they went through to combine merino wool with functional fibres.

Their biggest mistake was taking the brand to IPO, because as soon as you do that, you lose control of product and strategy. You become beholdened to shareholders who don't understand anything about product - they only want to see bigger returns on investment.

You use cheaper materials and cut prices to inflate sales volume. You fire high-salaried engineers and hire latte-sipping marketing kids instead. Good for short term profits but kills the brand in the long run. Ten years ago Allbirds was the gold standard for shoe startups. Five years ago consumers started complaining about discomfort, poor fit, and breakage. Two years ago the founders were pushed out. Now the brand is in dustbin, and their bean-counting, pencil-pushing managers are "pivoting to AI" to try and salvage the stock price.

I've seen this happen to so many brands in my line of work. Allbirds is just the most recent one to die the same sorry death.

800% earlier today. Shoe company glues the letters AI and the stock goes ballistic. But the Tech Bros will insist there is no AI bubble.

I really feel bad (not) for India, few years back, they were the "Star" of the show, when US Biden trying to court them, given a center stage of news, discussion or what not and earlier Trump administration continuing Biden policy before all hell break loose.

Their big mishape/fortune/global perception really turn around after the Pakistani Indian war....that total humiliation of that and Trump started tweeting the nonsense out.

Modi becomes like a broken shell of a man now, totally lost the oomph factor in all his recent endevours and even walking style.

Total quiet this time around for India, even his favorite son Jaishankar guy been so quiet lately

Really no cards to play but some dirty trick, matter made worst last Modi visited Israel before the hell gates of economy opens and hit them hard

Seems to be sitting at the small table quietly at far corner aways from all the chess pieces being moves in the middle east. The Pakistanis seems very busy at the moment....
This is from Iran thread which isn't too relevant so I will comment here instead.

I personally believe the cracks of Modi's image are beginning to surface now. Even Jai Hinds are beginning to understand that Modi is just literally serving them cow dung that somehow smells good.

By the time they realize, it will be too late. He will be out of power and the damage will have been done. They have to deal with it since it's their responsibility. I don't think we should care since we have enough problems on our own stuff already.

I never trusted the so called “mutual defense treaty”. As expected, there was every reason to be skeptical. Khan defended Pakistan from being lured into a trap. So the Pakistani Military Leaders got rid of him so they could waltz into the trap on their own.

There is no Mutual Defense Treaty. It never existed. India can invade Pakistan and nothing will happen.
lol. this conflict made Saudi Soft Power multiply and Pakistan completely subservient to it. When Saudi are involved. first order is Europe and last is GCC. it is that superiority they want to demonstrate in way making New Europe.
