If Panama did this to the US, there would definitely be some kind of "accident" where explosive material being shipped "accidentally" blew up right when the cargo ship was "coincidentally" at the weakest part of the canal, leading to damage that would take years to fix. Just saying...
I was thinking of the same thing. How is it that the US, Israel and the west can do these kind of things so easily while China and even Russia cannot? It is skills? Lack of technology? Lack of will?

I mean a Russian general was shot recently, why couldn't Russia assassinate Ukrainian generals? Lack of will or lack of ability or both?

When Duterte was in power, there was a rebellion happening, suddenly now Marcos is in power, rebellion is not active anymore? Why couldn't China try to fund and activate such rebellion?

Infuriating to see how the west can do it but not China? Just like asml fire they just happened to delay the euv machine.

Easy, because Duterte had done all the hard dirty work, fighting both the insurgency and the drug menace simultaneously and crushing them ,so Marcos is lucky, he was given a stable country to run and his incompetency become our misery. Good luck to Whoever the next president, he or she need a ball of steel to stir the country back to 2019 level under Duterte.

Fixing this country involves a huge push for modernization. Central Asia had similar problems. Tajikistan for example suffered from a violent civil war but they solved it by secularization and modernization of the country and sometimes with an iron fist instead of sliding back into bizarre 7th century lifestyle.. Otherwise you can come back in 50 years and still read headlines like these. No amount of silencing/banning people would change the reality.
lol. Study 7th century Soft Power. Saudi news paper Okaz in 2017 wrote partnership of century and reconstruction of region.
Tajikistan practically had 100% literacy rate thanks to Soviets with small population and they are secular and leftist. further secularization could not have solved that civil war problem except for Russia intervention.

The picture that you see below is the right wing. Putin really want them successfull but its much harder to work with right. Behind this Putin approach is hundreds of years of 7th century education.

Putin: The Taliban controls Afghanistan; this is a reality and must be acknowledged.

I just have to say, the US is flexing its power everywhere and at some point China will have to hit US vassals hard.

Japan will become more belligerent, EU seemingly bend over backwards for the US is now actively washing economic war against China.

I am confident the Dutch court will rule against China in Nexperia case.

Now EU tariff Chinese ceramics and investigating Chinese wind turbines. China needs to investigate EU produces as well and plan it better so as to hit them right when they hit China. Eg. Prepare to hit back if nexperia doesn't return to wingtech.

Thailand may also flip to a less friendly govt sure to US support for the pro West party. South America seems to be going towards right wing govt who are supportive of trump and the US. I guess all this is the power of US media and influence.

China needs to step up. Make it hurt for those to go against its interest. Eg. Accident at the Panama canal. Or a fire at the nexperia Malaysian plant if nexperia is it given back to wingtech. Something to increase the cost of taking Chinese assets.

The Lithuania case is a prime example of Chinese victory.

Its not the same thing but its a good case study of what fundamentals to use for other countries that try to f around with China and think there will be no consequences. Maybe why China doesn't look so strong in flexing is the results take longer to become apparent;

But to be fair I rather have results that appear later but also have a much deeper impact than ones that appear earlier but are shallow.

What do you guys think? Good move or bad? Ultimately, I think it's a nothingburger and won't do anything to prevent Canada from throwing China under the bus after a friendlier to them US government gets voted in. But I guess it cost nothing, so whatever.

I feel it's a bad move. It shows China is willing to bend the rules of law if a country is even just a little friendly to it. Law is law. It should be upheld

Otherwise the next time something like that happens it will seem more like politics and less rule of law.

Never liked Deepak Chopra. Never bought the enlightened bull he dished. He talks about peace but I’ve heard him repeat Indian nationalistic rhetoric. Notice what other “enlightened” are also pedos…? I get the same vibe from Salman Rushdie. I wonder if and how many times his name shows up in Epstein peodfiles…

See… a lot of China-haters for some reason turn out to be criminal perverts as well.

I’m surprised they didn’t dare to try claim Epstein was a double agent for China. Yeah Epstein was everything but working for Israel.
On twitter they’re already trying to insert propaganda and poison pills like how supposedly Epstein worked for Russia and how President Xi, Macron, Putin and pope Francis attended a wedding in Notre dame.

plot thickens, looks like both factions, compromised by Epstein are now rushing to tell teacher to get the other guys in trouble.
