I’m confused. Did the organizer or Messi mislead the attendees on how long he will be there for?

Messi was scheduled to be in the stadium for a 60 minute visit. He only stayed for 20 minutes.

India also built an 70ft or 21m iron statue of Messi and he wasn’t there for the unveiling either. Apparently, it cost a few to several million USD of taxpayers money.

Just cause East Asians are western worshippers, don't assume everyone is the same. India and Middle-East have very strict restrictions on foreigner marriages culturally. There is also religious factors. These cultures are much more obsessed about religion than East Asia ever was.

Finally, they don't consider the west to be culturally superior. They usually consider west to be decadent and look down upon western culture. So, instead of looking up on the western men, they look down on them. This is the big difference between East Asia and India/Middle-East. East Asians consider Western Culture to be superior and paragon to follow. They also consider western tech, wealth to be the ultimate status symbol.

Not all cultures are as obsessed about tech and wealth as East Asians are.
Your conclusion is quite unconvincing. India's admiration for developed Western countries is unparalleled; they may only exercise restraint on religious issues.

Or to put it bluntly, ordinary Indian women seem to lack sufficient social status to decide their own marriage choices, which explains the phenomenon of few Indian women marrying foreigners.

Yet you interpret this as Indians' contempt for Western culture.

Social Perspective: Autonomy Is Often Limited

  • Arranged Marriages Dominate: Around 80-90% of marriages in India are still arranged, where parents or families lead the matching process. Many women have veto power, but due to social pressure (such as "family honor" or expectations), they struggle to exercise it. Some arranged marriages evolve into "semi-arranged," where women meet the partner beforehand, but the final decision remains influenced by family.
  • Cultural and Traditional Factors:
    • Caste and religious endogamy are deeply rooted; inter-caste or inter-faith marriages often face opposition, even violence (honor killings).
    • Rural areas are more conservative, with child marriages and forced marriages still occurring (though child marriage rates dropped from 47% in 2005 to 27% in 2016).
    • Women are often seen as carriers of family "honor"; rejecting an arranged match can lead to social isolation, violence, or economic dependence issues.
  • Changing Trends: With urbanization and higher education, "self-arranged" or love marriages are increasing among the younger generation, especially educated women. More women are choosing to remain single. However, the overall divorce rate is very low (about 1%), and many women endure unhappy marriages due to economic dependence, social stigma, or concerns for children.

In summary, legally, yes—Indian women have complete rights to decide their own marriages; but socially, not always, as many still face significant pressure. In recent years, with rising education, urbanization, and women's awareness, autonomy is gradually strengthening, but change still takes time.

The only thing I learned from that article is that Prof. Prasad is that he works for the CIA and is doing what he is told.

No one is this dumb.

What do professors do? Academics study things. Therefore, first step is to find out what sells. What is China selling that is in such high demand?

None of that was even attempted. It was time to tow the party and that professor did what he was told to do.
It's not very complicated.

Gulf Kingdoms have to be strict since they have to manage migration force.
in Islamic society. men population will be much larger than women. and this imbalance will further skew towards men when it is wealthy and further when it is evenly distributed in wealth. If you go one step beyond. another category called real muslims which push demographics further towards men. when there is such shortage what will they do?. It is called New Europe.

There have been articles I recall reading that MAGA are obsessed with (Far East) Asian women because they of course (stereotypically) embody the subservient woman they demand women play. From what I gather is to MAGA, Indians are seen as black. That’s why big suck ups like Vivek Ramaswamy aren’t even getting a break. Remember Gandhi went to South Africa because he wanted to change the racial hierarchy seen there which was Indians were at the same level as Africans. I don’t think Afrikaners had some uniquely different perspective on race than Europe. Just look at the pressure JD Vance is said to be getting from MAGA. The hardcore don’t want any race mixing and they account for around 30% of the Republican base.
In the 2000 Republican party presidential primaries, John McCain was leading George W Bush in the polls and had all the momentum with him after soundly winning New Hampshire. The Bush campaign managed to turn the tide in South Carolina using two tactics that appealed to racist sentiments:
1) Making support for the Confederate flag a campaign issue (McCain opposed the Confederate flag)
2) A mass calling campaign to inform South Carolinian voters about McCain having a dark/black skinned daughter (McCain adopted her from an orphanage in Bangladesh)

Dell and Lenovo may limit mid-range laptops to 8GB DDR5 RAM in response to rising memory prices

With DDR5 RAM prices skyrocketing, some mid-range laptops could soon ship with budget-level specs. TrendForce expects companies like Dell and Lenovo to stock more notebooks with 8GB of memory. These reasonably priced options may no longer handle intense office and gaming tasks.

Higher DDR5 memory prices could have a dramatic impact on the marketplace for years. A new TrendForce report suggests that manufacturers will offer more laptops with 8GB of RAM. However, buyers may have to accept a lower price-to-performance ratio.

A bleak future for laptop deals

Companies like Dell and Framework have already made memory upgrades more expensive. As a result, it’s more difficult to tempt buyers with discounts on these machines. Downgrading configurations is not an ideal solution, but it may be the only way to keep asking prices reasonable.

TrendForce explains that the most dramatic changes could come with mid-range models. With 16GB or higher memory capacities available, they handle most demands. The report predicts that 8GB laptops will become much more common in this price bracket. Buyers concerned about performance may need to consider a more expensive alternative.

Premium business or gaming laptops with 32GB or 64GB of DDR5 memory will see inflated MSRPs. Meanwhile, manufacturers have less flexibility with budget notebooks. Lowering their specs would make the affordable options struggle with even basic tasks in Windows 11.

Another problem manufacturers face is with notebooks that ship with soldered DRAM. In particular, ultrathin designs would need to be revamped to modify their configurations.

Optimization is critical during the memory shortage

To accommodate less capable laptops, buyers are already calling on vendors to reduce bloat. Unfortunately, some resource-hungry background tasks are a function of Windows. Each new version of the Microsoft OS has consumed more memory, which seems like more of a glaring issue now.

Even though consumers are experiencing sticker shock, it may not be until Q2 2026 that all laptops suffer price hikes. Some vendors are more prepared for the turmoil with larger component stockpiles. Other companies may be willing to absorb losses in the hopes that the crisis eases.

With overwhelming demand from AI data centers, laptops using DDR5 RAM aren’t the only products threatened. The TrendForce report also details how smartphone makers will revise their inventories.

Lol. Mid-Range laptops being shipped with 8 GB RAM in 2026. Combined with the bloatware. Good luck trying to do anything on an expensive metal brick. Something like Steam will be using up to 12% of the RAM running in the background.
