I believe that the likelihood of the Russia policy and anti-Chinese policy merging into a single policy is increasing as of recent events. The Anti-Chinese hawks gets their blockade / trade war with China and the Russia hawks get their global oil sanctions. The Europeans are more than happy to tag along and burn themselves into oblivion.
