Considering the competition, distrust in Chinese systems makes more sense for Iran than Pakistan. Pakistan’s main opponent is India, which besides the Rafael, only has outdated fighters. Even the Rafael is only a 4.5 generation fighter and India has a very limited number of them.

But Israel has full access to the F-35, which is a 5th generation fighter widely considered the best in the world. China’s answer to it, the J-20, was never for sale. It actually makes sense the Iranians would not have wanted to acquire the J-10 given what they were up against. The J-10 doesn’t match up well vs the F-35.

That said, neither does Su-35; but we also don’t know what happened behind the scenes there, except that Iran did not end up with any delivered. It’s possible the Russians gave them a better deal due to the war but with the caveat of late delivery. Either way, none of these fighters can match up to Israel’s state of the art air force and neither China nor Russia are selling Iran their 5th generations.
Su-35 should have done the work for Iran provided it had R-37M 4+ and R-77M 4++. this would have prevented IDF refuelling with ability to hit Israeli airforce on the ground. but than Iran will need to buy much more and years of complex training.
The problem with Iran is that it want to insert itself in things that it has no competency and this delay things and end product is substandard.

The F-35 is not invulnerable and has its weakness, the Rafael was suppose to be closer to the F-35 than the J-10 and still Pakistan excellent use of the air defenses allow them to get the upper hand. The issue is that having something and using it well is much better than having nothing. If wasn't for the Iranian missile force Iran wouldn't have any deterrence against Israel. which by the way Iranian missiles are made using Chinese tech, for example the fiber optic IMU or the Carbon Fiber.
The effectiveness of a 4.X aircraft against a 5th Gen is near 0, for the former to have a chance, it would require a tremendous advantage in external ISR(to maybe find it) plus datalink for system integration(to get the shot off), this is assuming the former overcommits and expose itself to the aforementioned ISR advantage.

Stealth is the most important part of the survivability onion, the gap is not linear and it's not something that can be replaced by a EW suite on the Rafale. Iran's best option is building up a ground based air defense based on Chinese radar tech, buying aircraft against Israel without the foundational solution against stealth is pointless.

India will never become a superpower. Its problems are too many. It will start to stagnate and fall into middle income trap and then it will start to break apart due to all internal contradictions

Do these article ever talk about the monetary value of the GDP they enable?

US highways loses $300+ billion a year.
From what I’ve researched transit oriented development models (TOD),
—like what Japan is especially notable for doing: having their metro operators be real estate leasors/operating shopping centers, malls, plazas, and even housing near or on train stations— is still quite a rare thing in China.

Also notable that most HSR stations are far from city centers in China, a different philosophy from what we see in other models.

Indians feel their performance review by daddy US has directly led to US favouring Pakistan again.

For all it's faults, Pakistan at least delivers. Ok it needs money, but every employee wants that. India also needs money, but doesn't do good job, that's just bad business all around. Nobody wants that

Pakistan’s Nobel Peace Prize nod to Trump stirs India concerns of US tilt to Islamabad

Pakistan’s decision to nominate US President Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize – just days after a rare White House meeting between Trump and Pakistan’s army chief – has raised concerns in India, where analysts say the move could signal Islamabad is regaining strategic favour in Washington at New Delhi’s expense
Observers say, however, that eyebrows have been raised in Delhi over the optics of Trump extending such visible warmth to Munir, and the timing and framing of the Nobel nomination, which appears aimed at reinforcing Trump’s long-standing narrative that his personal diplomacy helped prevent open conflict between India and Pakistan.
Independent political commentator Nilanjan Mukhopadhyay said there was growing unease in India about Washington appearing to place it on the same footing as Pakistan – a posture that, in his view, risked “putting the Kashmir issue back on the international agenda” and undermining India’s long-held position of the dispute being strictly bilateral.
“India is trying, but Trump has proved to be unpredictable and it is getting very difficult to engage with him. He is the most inconsistent of world leaders,” Mukhopadhayay said.

I didn't said they should just buy combat jets without the foundational counter stealth capabilities. Air combat is a two man game, stealth reduce your chances of getting hit but is not impossible.
