The Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh should be sacked and replaced. Not an iota of diplomacy in his body

If BD's interests lie or not in the Quad then thats their decision. Muh "Non-interference" policy lol

Btw here is the comments made by Chinese ambassador

Undertandable stance by China. However these things are better said behind closed doors and not on front of the world!
I am sure that BD knows what is the Quad and doesn't need the ambassador to explain it to them lol

IMO he should be sacked ASAP for his incompetence
I actually see the Bangladeshi response as undiplomatic and aggressive. All the Chinese Amb said was about QUAD and that any country joining it including Bangladesh would damage relations with China.
Its the Bangladeshi FM who's unnecessarily making it an issue of sovereignty.

These are behaviors we were taught happened in Nazi Germany, Guess what? The western democracy are a sham and hypocritical for doing the same. No pro-active actions and policies are being taken by the so-called "democratic" 5-eyes NAZI. Affirmative and aggressive policies are needed but instead we see them looking away and turning an acknowledging blind eye.

Why do you say that the defence minister travelled to BD for this reason?
Because in the same article that you posted, the defense minister actually said it crystal clear with very strong and unambiguous manner.

In a meeting with president Abdul Hamid on April 27 in Dhaka, Chinese defence minister General Wei Fenghe emphasised the need for Bangladesh to take joint efforts against the formation of a military alliance led by the United States on maintaining ‘hegemony’ in South Asia.

‘To jointly maintain regional peace and stability, the two sides [Bangladesh and China] should make joint efforts against powers outside the region setting up military alliance in South Asia and practising hegemonism,’ General Wei said, according to Chinese news agency Xinhua.

I know that there is some diplomatic talk here but this doesn't sound to me like a country wanting to join Quad.
One may ask when this "doesn't want" happen? Before or after the visit by the defense minister? It is all for us to guess.

I maintain my opinion that the Ambassador's remarks were "just" incompetence
IMO, making a justified warning of last resort is the duty of an Ambassador, can not be incompetence. Remember China's diplomatic officials have made such "threat" many times in the past. Also remember China's "non-interference" policy comes with a pre-condition, that is "don't fuck with me" (人不犯我我不犯人,人若犯我我必犯人).

Wait... I don’t understand... so Bangladesh is thinking about joining an organisation/initiative that is basically specifically designed to counter China... and the ambassador is saying that such actions would damage relations... and that is aggressive how? That not even China poking their noses into anything... that is just stating ‘if you are going to be an Asshole to us, then don’t expect us to be nice to you’ how is that being aggressive and interfering in their policies... Bangladesh is free do what they want but can’t expect their actions which is specifically against the interests of the other party to be completely ok with it...

Yes but why do this in public? He could easily do it in private. Doing it in public changes nothing

Ambassadors no1 job is to keep promoting friendly relations which is why you never (well, almost never) hear ambassadors making comments that can be perceived as negative by the hosting country

That he made these comments, it shows that he has failed the most important part of the job which is "dont mess up our relations with this country"

I don't know the politics in Bangladesh, could it be that this FM is from a different camp or background than the president or prime minister? We have seen this kind of mess happening in many countries, such as Sri Lanka and Czech Republic, to name a few.

Chinese PM Wang Yi has warned Bangladesh privately in April for not joining the Quad. If the ambassador felt the need to comment that in the public, which means Wang Yi's warning is brushed aside by factions in Bangladesh that wanted to engage with India and Quad.

I think you need to read the diplomatic gesture between China and Bangladesh before making assessment if the warning is necessary or not. A few months ago, Bangladesh accepted Indian donated vaccines but refused Chinese donated vaccines. It is the only country that has done that. All other countries accepted donated vaccines from both countries. Even Nepal took Chinese vaccines after some delays due to pressure from India. Now, Bangladesh wanted China to help and Chinese vaccines but still want to pursue Quad which is unacceptable from the Chinese perspective.

Calm down as you get too agitated too easily. Shouting "wolf" all day does not make a wolf warrior. It is contrary.

An ambassador's job is to convey his/her countries policies for the benefit of both countries. This includes providing a fair warning to avoid future conflict of interest.

I am just suspecting, could this FM is at odd with the leadership. This is not a surprise in a western styled democracy. The very recent example is the president of Czech and the chairman of the Senate making conflicting statements about China. The Senate chairman event went to Taiwan, but the president gave a very warm speech of relationship with China.
