Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is Missing

This is more of a salvage ship.

But the fact is, by now it's no longer SAR op, in reality a salvage mission...unless the flight got sucked into a wormhole or something, they will eventually find its remains.

Everyone ought to keep in mind that Malaysia is a predominantly Muslim nation that practices apartheid policies against Chinese and Indians. Occasionally, some of them still make threats of violence against the minorities. It does not take much to figure where their sympathy lies.

Eventhough Malaysia would look like a Taliban regime when compare with Singapore (which is pretty conservative as it is by western standards that we're accustom to), we should be fair to remember that Malaysia is by far the most secular of Muslim states in today's world - that is, non-Malay / non-Muslim Malaysians might get the "turn one's nose up" treatment, but churches and temples don't get attacked like other places. Still, despite crackdowns on AQ-affiliated groups for so many years, there's probably a small radical cell remains operational in Malaysia, or at the very least use it as a launchpad because Malaysia isn't flagged as high-risk location.

Well Salvage is I think the wrong word, recovery seems more apt. As the wreckage is critical in figuring out what happened.
the search part for SAR is still accurate.

There's too much speculation on these two with the stolen passports. Yeah they're suspects but they could be just drug smugglers that happen to be on the plane. How did they bring down the plane? There have been cases of crazed crew members. That could explain why there wasn't any communications. And if it was one of the pilots he would've known where there was no radar tracking and flown it off course and crashed the plane to be harder to find.

Yea but even then all of my skepticism still stand strong. Plus, what kinda terrorist makes a plane disappear??!!

Those two holders of those stolen passports had onward booked tickets for Europe, so the passports could have been used to claim asylum,in the country of choice, or they are just a couple of people using the passports as part of the illegal workers racquet.

It listed as "disappear" now because nobody has found out where the flight gone to, or to be more exact, what's left of it. Once that million-dollar question is answered, it'll all change.

I was referring to the people spreading the rumours. I suspect them to be the predominant race there.

I stand corrected. It was an unknown group from China.

Agreed. It's all speculation without more information. There were cases of crew and passengers bringing down planes for insurance claim. No one knows yet how far the plane turned back before it went down.

WASHINGTON - Preliminary surveillance data reviewed by the Pentagon suggests the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 did not explode over the South China Sea.

MAS plane missing: All the latest reports

The New York Times, in its report, "Passport theft adds to mystery of missing Malaysia Airlines jet", said the headquarters of the United States Department of Defence used a system that "looks for flashes around the world".

"The Pentagon reviewed preliminary surveillance data from the area where the plane disappeared and saw no evidence of an explosion," the daily quoted a United States official as saying on condition of anonymity because the subject matter was classified.

It said a team of aviation experts, led by the US National Transportation Safety Board, was on its way to the area.

"If all aboard were killed, it would be the deadliest commercial airline accident since Nov 12, 2001, when an American Airlines Airbus crashed just after take-off from Kennedy Airport en route to the Dominican Republic," the report said.

It also said the discovery that two of the passengers were carrying stolen passports raised the "unsettling possibility of foul play".

It quoted a senior US intelligence official as saying law enforcement and intelligence agencies were investigating the issue of the stolen passports.

The US authorities, it reported, were scrutinising the flight manifest closely, with the official noting that forged travel documents were also used routinely by smugglers and illegal immigrants.

"At this time, we have not identified this as an act of terrorism. While the stolen passports are interesting, they don't necessarily say to us that this was a terrorism act," the daily said, quoting the official said.
