Re: World News Thread & Breaking News!!

Breaking news, just heard on radio China received an statement written letter from an female stating the missing Malaysian flight is caused by the retaliation of oppression caused by the Malaysian government and sympathy toward Chinese oppression Uighurs... rumors or fact to be confirmed..... Just received the news a minute ago.

So someone is claiming responsible, anyone have the source please post!

Sorry, but given the chaos and the confusion caused by this incident, something like the rumor could be easily hoaxed.

Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) C-130 Hercules participating in the multi-national operation to locate a missing Malaysia Airlines aircraft. The Boeing 777-200ER vanished from radio and radar contact over the South China Sea at about 1.30am local time on Saturday with 239 passengers and crew.

The image shows loadmasters and flight engineers from 122 'Condor' Squadron looking out from paratroop doors of the C-130, scanning the seas for signs of the doomed aircraft. Should they spot something of interest, the crew would drop smoke canisters (seen in the foreground) to mark the object(s) for investigation by ships in the search party. Life rafts for any crash survivors can also be seen on the closed ramp door of the C-130.

The oil slicks have been rejected to belong to the MH370. News says that the plane might try to return to Malaysia before losing contact. It doesn't make sense at all because the point of losing contact is nearer to Vietnam than Malaysia. If the captain found his plane had problems, why not go forward and land in Vietnam? Any chance that the plane actually missing on ground rather than in water?

Re: Malaysia Airlines Plane is Missing

Now the Vietnamese are saying the oil belt is at least 80KM long. If so, based on the cruising speed of the 777, it would've travelled for at least 5 minutes with mechanical problems. That means there's no major explosives on the plane, or else it would've dived into the ocean instantly, instead of gliding/flying for addition 5+ minutes.

Agreed...unless the plane crashed, then fuel leaked and the current carried it..but can it really go 80km within 72hours?
The other possibility is gradual disintegration, but the streak will not be unbroken. And another question is, what is the last recorded/registered altitude on the radar?

Steel, its a 6 hour, 2300 miles flight, it could literally be anywhere, as a long time aviator, it can take days, weeks, months, and years to find an accident sight, when you have water, jungle, and mountains, over water at night, well lets just say its "dangerous", it is routine, and we forget the risk because of all the safe operations completed, but "all" flying, contains a relatively high level of risk, trust me! Statistics can lull us into complacency, they shouldn't, but they do. brat

I will probably take this as half BS until further confirmation. It feels more like someone wants to claim undeserved responsibilities more than anything. Think about it, how do you tie Malaysian government together with Uighurs? The argument is stretched and weak, especially Malaysia can't even be considered a "major ally" of China in this aspect in any way. If it's for real, it makes more sense for the target to be a Chinese airline company or Chinese flight or Chinese asset. Punishing a "weak ally" is the weakest message anyone can use for terrorism. And honestly, coming out at this time? Doesn't seem like something organized perpetrator will do...as in the massive lag since the disappearance of the aircraft. Furthermore, the suspected passports belonged to various irrelevant nationalities, which also therefore makes even less sense. Something like this sounds very far-stretched and barely symbolic.

Re: Malaysia Airlines Plane is Missing

I think you meant Malaysian airplane?

Btw, does anyone know what type of radar facilities either Malaysia or Vietnam has? Even if the plane stopped communicating with the outside, I would presume military installations would have the capacity to track that plane especially when it veered off its flight plan. Otherwise, how would these countries identify incoming threats?

If the two stolen passports do have a role in this plane's disappearance, I'm wondering what's the likelihood two terrorists (maybe more with real passports), disable beacons, tried to overtake the plane, struggle ensued, plane crashes in such a steep angle that most of the wreckage simply went under quickly? But I guess there still has to be some debris on top right?

I think it would really be straight out of Hollywood if this plane was hijacked and it's currently landed somewhere with the passengers held hostage. But you would think demands be made by now too.

A sharp angle would shatter the plane, and I don't know if it will explain the subsequent debris...but more update should follow and tell us more soon...

Re: Malaysia Airlines Plane is Missing

Some article coined that area a form of "Bermuda Triangle" of the region. I really don't hope this is true, because what's worse than confirmed disaster is mysterious disappearance.

No matter what happens, I think it's still healthy to pray for possibility of survivors UNTIL wreckage or debris that states otherwise, begins to appear.

I really feel bad for those who are suffering from this because there's a lot of people on this flight, and whatever happens the worst is being not able to give the victims a fair conclusion and truth, regardless of fate and event's outcome, that they only have all the right to receive.

Right on Air, and these electronics failures, on multiple levels should also remind us that the "drone boys" have very little understanding about the propensity of electronics to fail, on multiple levels, in spite of our best efforst to layer redundancy, suddenly and catastrophically at the worst possible moments.....

Everyone ought to keep in mind that Malaysia is a predominantly Muslim nation that practices apartheid policies against Chinese and Indians. Occasionally, some of them still make threats of violence against the minorities. It does not take much to figure where their sympathy lies.
