So there are several videos on youtube from Indian news (India Today) that actually show this picture and describe it.

1. This is patrol point 14, the exact point where the Galwan river makes an acute turn 5km east of the confluence of the Galwan and Shyok rivers.
2. On 6/15, a PLA outpost tent constructed on that very spot was taken down by the dead colonel and his men, and the fighting then continued towards the left (on the Chinese side of the LAC)
3. As of 6/22, when this satellite photo was taken, we see construction activity...multiple tarps on the ground, earth moving equipment. We now see a non-paved road all the way to the bend in the river.
4. This is exactly what we should expect, given that China fought India to the death to protect this exact location, as PP14 has a direct visual towards the downstream confluence of the Galwan and Shyok rivers.

5. India's negotiating position as of the 6/22 meeting has been for the return to the status quo ante as of 5/4.

What are y'all thinking the chances of that happening are? : )

Do PLA soldiers sleep with their gun like this?

Indians are mocking this?? They must have taken one too many rocks to the head; they don't even know what is good and what is bad in the military. A soldier being partially on guard even when sleeping is a trait to be admired. If Indians mock that, then what do they think is appropriate, for a sleeping solder to be kicked awake to his own gun pointed at his face?

I don't care about the Indian mocking part. I just find it scary if the PLA soldiers sleep with their gun loaded like that.

Problem is, this doesn't look professional. You can easily sleep on top of your gun with the safety off to prevent someone from trying to snatch your rifle. Alternatively, you can lock your rifle between your legs and pass it to your arms if someone tries to pull it.
