Interesting but why the rise in hostilities when China wants good relationship and India too (they certainly don't want to fight China)?

Misunderstanding?
I believe India has a lot of mentality influences by the British colonial past, and hence they think they are a cut above others, including China. They live in a dreamy bollywood world and think India is the real Asian superpower. Is it, really?

I cannot find "Shackche" on any map, I am aware that a new airport is being built at Tashkurgan which might fit the bill?

Outer Mongolia was disposable, no? The independence of Mongolia is because the PRC negotiated with the Soviet Union in return for Soviet assistance, although Mongolia was self-governing.

I'd argue that Lhasa, as a small city in a sparsely populated frontier region, is disposable. So's the SCS islands, but in a different way. The SCS is a Chinese strategic frontier that's being heavily fortified. Having the SCS get bombed out is not a preferred outcome, but it's preferred to having Hainan bombed out, which is the entire point of the SCS.

None of these lands are 'disposable'. What makes you think the largest city in Tibet is disposable? Feels like you're just trying to sound edgy tbh.

Oh yes. The critically injured soldier who passed away months later was added to the toll.

Nice media manipulation trick though to try project that as China's "revisions" - trying to throw doubt at numbers.

But the most important detail would be -

that contrary to the perception that the Indian side was outnumbered by the PLA in the Galwan Valley, it was the Chinese that faced the brunt and they had to call in reinforcements, which came at night.

That's a good admission. So the Chinese were outnumbered by the Indians.

Odd that they didn't mention who the additional martyred soldier was...

Scratch that, I went to the article they sourced.
the 33-yeard-old Chen Hongjun sacrificed his life to the frontline defense confrontation with India in the Galwan Valley in June 2020, along with other four of his comrades-in-arms, who had stationed in the Karakoram Mountains with the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Xinjiang Military Command.

I think that this is a case of bad writing from Global Times’ part. What they probably meant to do was honor the four martyrs and commander Qi Fabao. However, the phrasing makes it sound like four additional people have died in addition to Chen.

I also checked the article The Print linked which they claimed states that Indians outnumbered the Chinese. Didn’t find anything. Looks like they are pushing a bold-faced lie to make them sound more credible. No matter though. Any one with eyes can see that the Chinese were outnumbered like 30 to 1 in the video released by CCTV. Has the Indian side released a video yet?

In fact there is a Shache airport in Yarkant County and it seems this is what the Indian media were referring to. So along with Ngari Gunsa, Hotan, Kashgar and possibly Ta

Not so. There is in fact a 'Shache' airport in Yarkant County and I think it's this the Indian media reports were referring to. Which is not to say that Tashkurgan Airport may not also be used by PLAAF. Which would make 5 bases within easy reach of Aksai Chin.
