JF-17/FC-1 Fighter Aircraft thread

Captain
RMAF has 2 tenders ongoing.

One for Multi Role Combat Aircraft of which the Mig35 was offered.
The other is the Light Combat Aircraft/Trainer of which the Yak130 was offered.
The MRCA programe is not on going. The intended MRCA program to replace existing SU-30KMM and F-18D was announced in 2010, eleven years ago and is practically dead, Malaysia's economy was and still is in no pisition for buying new MRCA fighter jets.

US government did made an offer to Malaysia, to buy back all RMAF's F-18D while selling the Super Hornets but our government did not take the offer. And Russians did offer their MIG-35 but there was no tender exercise as the programe was stopped some times after the annoucement of RMAF's intention to buy new jets.

There won't be any procurement of MRCA jets in near future, certainly not in 12MP (12th 5 years Malaysian plan). Our economy is practically drained by the current pandemic.

The mrca is to replace the mig29s not f18 and su30

Can we stick to the topic? Malaysia's RFPs for any future fighter or trainer are off topic here in this thread!

Indeed. It is only obvious.

But Pakistan can help the JF-17 reach and penetrate Middle East using the religion/culture cards. This way China can seek entry and expand. I wouldn't object to Pakistan calling JF-17 " Pakistan fighter " if it ends up making more yuans for China.

Pakistan can play a big role in removing the negative stigma around Chinese military weapons and systems.
Pakistan DID do a lot to remove any negative stigma around Chinese products, not just weapons. Pakistan was buying Chinese products in '80s when few others even knew that China exported stuff. J-7G, K-8, JF-17 are examples of successful products for which PAF was the launch customer & then these went on to be commercially successful. Pakistan always gave confidence to Chinese firms that their products had willing buyers, even if sometimes the confidence was misplaced.

Not much credible. A certain Establishment-aligned journalist from Pakistan runs globalvillagespaces & most of what it puts out is basically state propaganda. It can be considered chatter which may have some substance, but nothing you can quote.
every country should have its state run-propaganda channel and unless it goes way overboard like India's
all is well tbh

I believe 12 x JF17A Block III will be handed over to the PAF by end of 2021

I would also like to see the JF17B Block II flanking the Block III in a fly past

Anyone have frontal view of this display. Dual missile pylon it seems.

Is i'm the only person who's thinking that the wings of jf-17 should be redesigned or at least PAC should conduct research on it.

... You better be the only person. Because if I see another photoshopped '5th gen' JF-17 pic I'm gonna f!@kin lose it ! lolz

It's not like facelifting a Toyota or releasing a new iPhone every year. It's MUCH harder and more expensive.

The JF-17 is done. The Block III is it. It's all about weapon and subsystem integration at this point.
