It's kind of cute that all our articles always say XYZ is buying JF-17s "from Pakistan" lolz

It's like a kid who makes a car out of Lego and he's like "Watch out Toyota! I can make cars too!"

Indeed. It is only obvious.

But Pakistan can help the JF-17 reach and penetrate Middle East using the religion/culture cards. This way China can seek entry and expand. I wouldn't object to Pakistan calling JF-17 " Pakistan fighter " if it ends up making more yuans for China.

Pakistan can play a big role in removing the negative stigma around Chinese military weapons and systems.

Well, this platform was entirely customized for the PAF's requirements and meant to be assembled at home, which was the whole point of the program. Export orders to other countries are just a bonus, it was never a priority. But it is a good sign that others are interested, it means the PAF got those requirements right. The final product can punch above its price-point. But most Middle East nations have enough liquid capital to just splurge on higher-end fighters.

Perhaps I shouldn't say it out loud but this 145km range figure could be a case of deliberate disinfo...

China is producing pin-point accurate 'artillery rockets' with ranges beyond 250km. The HQ-9BE has 260km range. If anything, the PL-15 has at least AIM-120C8/D range.

No MIG-35 was offer in Malaysian tender, only YAK-130.

RMAF has 2 tenders ongoing.

One for Multi Role Combat Aircraft of which the Mig35 was offered.
The other is the Light Combat Aircraft/Trainer of which the Yak130 was offered.
