Both Pakistan and China can sell the aircraft. You've seen this happen with Nigeria and Myanmar. In Myanmar's case Pakistan was against the sale but it went through anyway because China needs Myanmar as one of the transit routes to bypass the Straits of Malacca together with Pakistan. In the case of Argentina they are cash strapped and the UK blocked sales of South Korean T-50 aircraft components to them.
But T-50 is trainer aircraft so perhaps L-15 is more likely candidate than JF-17. China and Pakistan should propose both.

Open question regarding foreign sales, has there been any progress on sales to Argentina? I heard it mooted years ago but no progress seems to have been made, at least until now. Is anything likely to change on that front?

No, Argentina is broke. IMO they won't order anything for long.

The Nigerian Air Force photo reminds me, how is JF-17 marketed exactly?

At this point, is it chiefly a PAC product?

Obviously only Pakistan can provide training, I also imagine most support would be handled by Pakistan as well. From the ASELPOD integration, obviously PAC can do system integration.

What work does Chengdu do at this point? Seems like only major design changes like JF-17B.

China can also provide training. You need to remember pilot training for new aircraft purchases are only basic flight and systems operation, not in-depth full syllabus combat operational training. It’s only meant to allow the client pilots to safely fly the planes and operate all systems. It is they up to the client Air Force to develop tactics for how they want to use them in combat scenarios.

China also markets the JF17, and I believe CAC still makes a percentage of every airframe, although I am not sure if they have transferred full production to Pakistan to allow them to focus more on their many many other products.

I think CAC would also need to keep a team to support the JF17B’s rollout, as it is almost inevitable that there will be niggled and feedback for changes/improvements after the PAF have had a chance to fly them for a while.

But generally, I would expect CAC to be winding down it’s involvement with the JF17 to focus on other projects.

As long as Pakistan continue to send the profit share cheques, I think CAC would much rather fully hand off the JF17 to Pakistan.

Yes, I suppose the Argentine defence budget is in a terrible state given so much money is spent on wages. I thought the JF-17 was viable on the basis they had been looking at the FA-50, but then again that might have been a pipe-dream. Even if it had been available it doesn't mean Argentina would have actually had money to secure meaningful numbers.
