So far the developer country does all the modifications to the fuselage and airframe to house a new engine. The buyer country or the client country cannot do it on it's own, unless all the following are satisfied :
a) The client has all the "finest blueprints" of the design, assembly and construction of the aircraft.
b) It has the necessary expertise and technology to execute the fuselage and intake re-design for the engine change.
c) Finally, it has authorization from the developer country to do the above.
Pakistan does not appear to fulfill any of the 3 criteria. It actually assembles the JF-17 from SKD kits at the PAC Kamra complex, so it's not necessary it is privy to the inside-out design details of the JF-17. So it does not fulfill point 1. It doesn't seem to have expertise or technology, as neither has it done any such activity in the past nor has it acquired the technology to do so. So, point 2 is also not fulfilled. Lastly, has China authorized Pak to integrate a western engine onto their aircraft ? So, point 3 is iffy.
I think the cause of agitation amongst the Pakistanis and the Chinese here is the disagreements on points 1 and 2.

No, that is incorrect. I haven't quarelled at any time during this particular engine debate, and gave a disclaimer to keeping equidistance from the Pakstanis and Chinese. None of my posts at any time have been offensive, or involved personal attacks or country attacks.
