Re: New Generation Fighter
For the umpteenth time, no. It's a PSed F-22.
is this real?

Flight Global is saying that the JXX will be an 'F-22' look a like, but given how uncharacteristically shoddy this entire piece is written, I'm hardly convinced about the validity of such a statement.
That article is so full of bs...

I just hope that first time readers who know nothing about the PLAAF will not be led astray from the fact that quantity usually means quality... (just look at sheer number of people on other forums quoting kopp...)
Or maybe it's better to underestimate, actually. Hmph.
They do sort of redeem themselves in that they at least mention some of the less-well known programs and concepts (Y-20, Y-9, some of the UCAV ones) but as you say, they are completely ignorant of other advances.Indeed, the entire article is ridiculous, it almost reads like something out of a Russian aviation forum, I posted it because flightglobal is a fairly regarded civilian and military aviation site but this article would be laughably bad if he weren't serious about everything he wrote. I'm not the sort to claim that I feel 'China is always getting bashed and unfairly and that it can do no wrong' but when it comes to the field of aviation, all of Chinese progress and endeavors are instantly dismissed. The article makes claims that the J-15 is a DIRECT copy of the Su-33 and all Chinese aircraft are copies. It makes no attempt to contact actual Chinese sources or 'experts', or verify all these Russian claims. I guess they couldn't be bothered to even contact a hack from Kanwa I guess! The part that makes me groan the most is the complete ignorance of the advances China has made in electronics such as radar, electronic counter measures etc. etc.
All in all I find this article very amateurish for such a well regarded site like Flight Global but after following Chinese aviation for a while now, its hardly surprising.
Considering how lousy security has been around CAC, I wouldn't be surprised if photos start to leak out within the next six months.
they can certainly keep it secret if they truly want to. All the major military website have some form of self-censorship to keep the most confidential pictures from getting released. The forum webmaster are in charger of only releasing them when given permission to. Even if someone got a hold of a good picture, he would not be able to get it posted on one of the main forum, which would prevent it from getting spread.
