Re: New Generation Fighter

Rumoured to have came from one of the CD handouts from the Zhuhai show:

Interesting to see that there are both top and bottom intakes. Maybe top is for conventional jet engine to accelerate plane to desired speed and bottom some sort of ramjet or scram jet for high speed dash?

From the angle it looks like side-by-side seating.

I think this will be a rapid response weapon capable of anti-ship role if developed.

I'm no expert but if the top intake leads to scram jets doesn't it mean that the plane has 4 engines?

Scram jet and ram jet are quite simple structually, almost not really an engine, but they require high speed to operate.

a- turbojet, b- ramjet, c- scramjet.

I think the top is for a turbo-type engine and bottom maybe a scramjet. What they could do is have a panel that could direct airflow from top inlet to the turbo and then close it off to by pass the turbo when scramjet kick starts using the lower inlet.

The plane is called the J-16, and it's a 6th-generation fighter. It is apparently in late stages of development (in testing stage) and it will eventually serve as successor of the J-13 and J-14.

Service time expected 2018.

SinoSoldier, do not hotlink your photos. Use a photo hosting site.

Oh, don't mind him. If he keeps posting total rubbish like this, he won't be polluting sinodefence for much longer.

Re: New Generation Fighter

Go google '3D models' and 'aircraft', there are entire forum with thousands of members devoted to them, and I'd like to know what's wrong with it. 3D modelers like making cool models, like we like to talk a lot of hot air about miltech. It's only a problem when somebody took a nice little 3D model and claim it is actually the 'new fighter'. If you look carefully you'll see the top of some words or logo that SinoSoldier cropped off the main image, which is likely the modeler's signature.

So next time save your sanctimonious nonsense about 'you people', 'kay?

Spare us your fantasies. This forum is smart enough not to be fooled.

I'm sure most people on SDF don't, but there are quite a few fanboys who would like to believe there are nuclear powered bombers, 6th generation fighters and the like all under development and due to enter service later this decade, just to keep their own hopes up.

The problem is that most actually believe that stuff and can't tell that their "sources" are actually bs written by other fanboys.
