Back to topic guys!
I know this has been asked before but what is the true length of the J-20? I think some one used a truck and then the J-10 for comparison.

Also the video shows that the J-20 had a shorter takeoff than the J-10s despite the fact that it didn't employ the afterburners. Does this imply that the engines are powerful enough for supercruise?

Well, with so many pictures of the J-10S and J-20 on the same runway, with the same backgrounds, I bet someone will come out with some much more accurate measurement very soon.

Anyway, I am browsing through the J-XX pictures I collected in the past few years, and I noticed a CG render dated back 2007 (its possible this was circulated back in 2006.. I only saw it on defencetalk 2007), I can't help to notice how accurate this fanboy's render is, it got so many things right it is practically close to the real thing!! (on top of the stated features in the comparison pic below, the canard configuration, the canted vertical tailfins...etc)
So who says fanboys are wrong!! :D :D :D

So all you naysayers and doubters better start believing the fanboy's CG renders from now on!!!! :D

The thing that really gets me about that render is the signature 'chines' right behind the canard. I wouldn't think a normal fanboy would understand the aerodynamic need to have a round, weird looking chine attach right after the canard. Its a unique detail that seems out of place in a usually layman's rendering.

On another note, is it possible this render is actual indication that CAC nail down the design probably back in 2005 (the design is quite possible leaked to some forum we don't know?) and this eventually became the basis of this fanboy render in 2006? It seems quite possible for this timeline since its 5 years of extensive testing and refinement until an actual prototype.

Indeed, challenges remain!

Certainly, we expect that PLAAF is cognizant of these -and other- challenges. If, as past practice indicates, the production model is +five years off, that allows China significant time to further develop avionic, sensory, and data fusion hardware and software and to include latest versions of these into the production platform.

Wow, just writing that got me excited!

With increased amount of money pouring into the R&D each year and the rapid modernization of the world. They may even end up with something to match if not better the F-22 which is already a few years old now. The J-20 is looking very promising indeed.

Wow, how did Judy Chu get banned after only one post? Was it a multiple account issue, or the return of someone previously banned?

The lead anchor was a middle-aged dude with glasses. He's got a regular spot. One of the "expert" commentators was retired General McCaffery -who absolutely knew what he was participating in, while the other "expert" was calling the DF-21D a cruise missile. It was really over the top with paranoia.

Keith Olbermann? Oo; What was the segment on.
