Making a comeback, seems like US is using the YF23 black widow design as next gen stealth fighters with more powerful engines and avionics. It's more stealthy than the F22.

Maybe China should do the same. YF23 design with WS15.

China may not need that many J20.

From Henry K blog. Is this the first operational regiment of J 20? good spot to station J 20. I hope to see 2nd brigade forming in Anshan
The first J-20As were delivered to the PLAAF's 176th Brigade at Dingxin Air Base at the end of 2016. This unit undertook formal operational evaluation (OPEVAL) and the J-20A officially entered service in September 2017. Aircraft from the latest production batches are expected to join the 1st Air Brigade at Anshan, in the Shenyang Military Region.
Quzhou (衢州), in Zhejiang province, is: - 226 km from the Chinese coast - 508 km from Taipei - 921 km from Okinawa (JPN) - 1178 km from Osan (KOR) The two satellite images dating from November 5 and 13, 2020 seem to suggest that the ten J-20s are parked in the open.

I think so - pretty sure 9th Brigade received J-20s in 2019 before 1st Brigade at Anshan received theirs last year

But as Denio noted, 9th Brigade are currently operating out of Quzhou while Wuhu is going through renovatioins

Since when did Anshan get their J-20s last year? From my understanding, the first have been spotted only in early April this year.

Apologies if I screwed it up - I'm merely an amateur compared to your tracking, please don't shoot or ban me!

Just basing my statement on J-20s at Anshan on what was listed on Orbats as well as

It takes a decade or more to develop a plane. Longer if engine is the gating item. They will keep up production until a new design is ready for production. Fifty a year, maybe more. Once a production line is set up, they will not stop unless they run into some issues such as parts bottlenecks or the space need repairs. It is the most efficient way to run the facility.

Just think about it this way. What are the teams at Chengdu who developed the J-10 and J-20 doing right now? If you think they are idle you have another thing coming. They are likely working on a 6th gen aircraft.

What exactly is your source on this? Most public concepts of NGAD have either no tail or folding tails.
