Thats pretty difficult to imagine, as kinds of stress a screw experiences basically rules out composites and ceramic screws come with a big price hike.I wonder if it would be possible to make the screws themselves out of RAM material. If the Chinese managed to develop an effective RAM material that is strong enough to make screws out of, it would remove the need to coat them.
Maybe in theory, but not now.I wonder if it would be possible to make the screws themselves out of RAM material. If the Chinese managed to develop an effective RAM material that is strong enough to make screws out of, it would remove the need to coat them.

It's images like these, and the many other high quality photos elsewhere in this thread that make this place such a great resource for my CG models - it is much appreciated! Looking forward to gradually seeing more high-res photos of the A/S variant as they reach front line service. I imagine that will take a while though, since they're only just now allowing the original J-20 version to be scrutinised up close, eg Changchun airshow 2025?Credits to Yantu
Thats pretty much what they do already no?Why not a metal screw with a thick layer of RAM cover on top?
