Two different Engines in this image ..

regular J-20 have WS-10C

AS/A variants has lengthy nozzles. possibility of new WS-10 variant. actually Nozzle confuse me. this new nozzle is more close to WS-15 than WS-10 family. the issue is, nobody knows the exact information. we can only guess

but the good news is, PLAAF has improved J-20 Variant going to induct in service. the most modern AESA radar on planet earth.

As suspected this morning with the first still blurry photos, the J-20S not only carries PLAAF markings, but also a 5-digit serial number on the tail, with the 78xxx (?) being most likely one of the FTTB units like the 176th or 172nd Air Brigade.

Which one in the formation is the 78xxx? Cause I heard only the spearhead is the J-20S. The immediate two trailing with the darker camo might be J-20As.

but why this black RAM coating..

what are the advantages and improvement as compare to light grey coating in older J-20 variants.

Maybe it needs less maintenance and is easier to apply.

I think it's more dark blue than black, I think I vaguely recall that some older J-20s also have this shade.

The black camo reminds me of the Su-47 camo.
