Yes (Most likely a Salut AL-31FN variant custom made for the J-20). Nobody here knows what exactly it is (though I have a nagging feeling flateric knows what the engine is).
Chengdu is known to have stockpiles of extra AL-31 FNs. Also, the Russians are trying hard to sell AL-31 FN series 3s to China. It is possible that AL-31 FN series 3s are already installed on J-10Cs. Correct me if I were wrong, please.

Not just trying to sell. They already have sold them. J-10B/C IS powered by the AL-31FN Series 3 with around 134 kN thrust. Question is, what is the J-20 using. You can't just fit an AL-31FN powering the J-10A/B/C into the J-20. There gearbox location for one. This is where the AL-31FM (or a variant of) hypothesis comes in. It is also developed by Salut for the Su-34. Salut is a logical partner. There were some rumors (or was it CCTV) stating that the J-20 uses a locally built engine, but NOT a WS-10 variant. This is confusing but maybe it is an AL-31 variant with a Salut core assembled in China (not sure whether this is even possible). For sure, with the exception of J-20 #2021 and #2022, all other J-20 (including prototypes) are using an AL-31 variant. What variant, no outsider seem to know the answer to that.

But clearly the J-20's AL-31s do not have TVC, so I assume it is not an FM. Or is there a version of FM without TVC? The original AL-31s powering the Su-27s and Su-30MKKs were not powerful enough for the J-20. Or like what you said, it could be a "Chinese engine" with a Salut core.

A Chinese engine with a Salut core is all but impossible ... it is more than likely just a custom AL-31F rather than some kind of weird hybrid.

J-10A/B/C - AL-31FN (Salut - No TVC)
Su-34 - AL-31FM (Salut - No TVC)
Su-30MKI/MKM/MKA/SM - AL-31FP (Saturn - Has TVC)
Su-35 - AL-41F1S (Saturn - Has TVC)
Su-57 - AL-41F1 (Saturn - Has TVC)
