That's OK, because it gives us the opportunity to observe that the EOTS is flat and opaque in the absence of outside lighting, just as the canopy doesn't cast that golden glow....
The EOTS in the photos is transparent. You can see the camera lens through the window. It is not due to absence of outside light, it is the angel of light and observer.
Edit: Sorry for being picky on details.
