Interesting that the leaflet shows the older J-20 Tech Demonstrators rather than the current prototypes/LRIP birds, maybe either 2001 or 2004 will show up?
EOTS takes much more than two years to develop. It's really hard to imagine that they broke into LM's website, downloaded some files, reverse engineered them, modified J-20 and installed the system on it after the first J-20. ;-)

Come on, we're better than that on this forum.

Mr. Forbin is simply making an inquiry as to the origin of the EOTS, its a viable question, no doubt China like everyone else has gleaned all the information they can from other sources, and it does bear a remarkable resemblance to the F-35 unit?? does it not?

As to the J-20 appearing at an airshow, I'm going to bet against that, it will not surprise me to see the FC-31 at Zuhai, but as for bringing the J-20 out in public, I believe there is simply too much "paranoia" and intrique floating around at present.

Secrecy sometimes ceases to be the means to an end, and becomes the end, in and of itself??

And I'm simply saying how unrealistic it is to even hint that China somehow got its hands on F-35's EOTS and in short order came out of a similar system after the first J-20 and had them on following prototypes. Does it make sense?

As for the resemblance of it to the F-35 unit, I don't know what kind of resemblance you're talking about. In any case, what matters are how effectively the components and the system work, not how they look like.

I just read some rumors about a hand-over this afternoon.

More reports are popping up with the same theme !!

:"The history has turned a new page!!!The dreamed, anticipated & long-awaited day has arrived."

It is rumored that LRIP J-20s have finally been delivered to PLAAF Flight Test & Training Base today !!!

Still awaiting confirmation and esp. images ...

Appearances can be very important, particularly if you lack a capability?? right?? and its no secret that cyber-hackers did in fact breach the F-35 protocols??? so, Mr. Forbins question is a very fair question.

So no, its certainly not unrealistic to ask the question, and its a question that somebody some where knows the answer to. I do suspect that our "friends" may be "borrowing" tech from their "cyber mining" operations?

I would also note that posters here are very concerned when early aircraft came out with an obviously non functional EOTS as a placeholder on the forward fuselage, and they were much happier when an apparently functional EOTS was later installed on the aircraft, and that EOTS housing and lenses appear a great deal like the outer housing and lenses on the F-35.

Have I drawn any firm conclusions?? NO, but I do have concerns, and the fact that Mr. Forbin asked that question with-out prompting allows us to acknowledge that others have similar suspicions, in fact there have been "high level" discussions between the US and China about these very issues??? YES??

Has anybody shared which airframes may be handed over??? I'm assuming it will not include 2001/2002, which is now 2004? If this is true, this will be a milestone, and should push this whole program back into high gear??
