Watch out. Russians are "reverse-engineering" it, they would make their copy of j-20 soon;)

Make a copy of the model is a piece of cake but make a copy of the technology is no way. They probably want to bring a dozen of them and go back to Russia and sell them for more money.

Ha, I was guite a DIYer when I was a kid! I repaired all kind of stuff from the neighbors, from a leaking bowl to a radio to an alarm clock... And speaking of bking, I was the only Chinese student who was seen on campus to mount a bike on the back of his car! But I gave up biking pretty soon though because Blacksburg is guiqte a hilly place and I got lazy soon also because driving around a tranquil and beautifu little town is such a pleasure! ...Speaking of setting me up with some girl, I was once set up with an undergraduate Korean chick in the mid 1990's and was set up with a 24-year-old blond (the good match maker mistook me for someone in his late 20's) a couple of months before I was to leave the States early this century... But let's just get back to the J-20! :D

Hey its nice and flat here in Central Illinios, and if we found you a nice girl, wifey could make her blond with a little Miss Clarol, and I could prolly get you a job at KLEM's aero repair for 4.00 an hour, thats what all of us experts got paid,, and we could bulid your chopper at KLEM's, something to think about for the future, we could prolly even find you a nice girl with a coupla kids, LOL. Actually I found us a Mig-21 here in Illinois its a two holer, we're bright guys, I think we could figure it out, only 50 grand or so? AFB Anyway the J-20 thread could use a little more excitement now that the Liaoning is getting all the attention.

No paited blond, please! Hehe... but seriously, Brat, are you serious with the wage over there nowadays? I remember in the early to mid 90's I got paid like 5.5 an hour while working at the computer lab. By the time I left the States, I thought it was already some 8 an hour. Is it the overall economic situation that causes this or is it that that place simply is of low cost-of-living?

And speaking of Liaoning, I only saw the trapping picture a moment ago. I'm not very excited about it though (both the plane and the carrier are of Russian origin)... not until I see a SAC/CAC 5th Gen. on Liaoning or a true China-made carrier coming out!

I think he's joking (at least I hope. Otherwise he's in big trouble...). I got paid more than that bussing tables at a Chinese restaurant in mid 90's when I was in college...

Well player, things in your home away from home are serious, Mr.BHOs healthcare plan will punish many small businesses who cannot afford to provide healthcare for their employees, larger employers such as for example, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, etc, etc, are cutting their full time employees back to 30hrs a week from 40hrs, in order to avoid the heavy boot of the IRS imposing those penalties and putting them out of business anyway. The healthcare act will take effect at midnight 12/31/12 as all the Bush era Tax cuts for everyone will expire at the same time, 23 million Americans are among the long term unemployed. I was fired from the three jobs I held at a for profit HOSPICE, Chaplain, Bereavement and Volunteer Coordinator positions, I was making 40,000 plus per year, and they hired a part time Chaplain, and a part time Volunteer/Bereavement Coordinator for whom they did NOT pay benefits. END OFF TOPIC

So thats not politics, thats life, but the Lord does provide, now back to the J-20, its a beautifull airplane and much to be proud of, as to your lack of same for the Liaoning and the J-15, I'm going to give you a gentleman's slap across each cheek with my flying gloves to get your attention: Now LISTEN UP, the Chinese Shipyard took a rusting, half finished piece of floating scrap and MADE an AIRCRAFT CARRIER out of her, she IS the FLAGSHIP of the PLAN, and she is gorgeous, she is classy and sweet, and for the Chinese Flankers, they are also gorgeous and sweet, that video of the Liaoning trapping her first J-15s is enough to make me proud, and the PLAN crew out there doing their FOD check together and walking the Deck, and trapping and launching those J-15s, well ask bd how you should feel about that, its great, and for the first time in my life, I am envious of the Chinese people and their many accomplishments, hard working, dedicated, commited to a better life. ONE more thing, if you had a new BMW or JAG or Camaro, you'de be proud of your new car, so BE proud of the PLAN, they've worked very hard to get here= good job, and congratualations, and keep working on your J-20, she will have her day as will the J-31, just be patient.

Hehe... Well, after saying that I wasn't very excited, I saw a lot more pics and the video clips, I did feel a bit excitement, but still what I felt was more being glad than being excited. I guess I just took it for granted that things like this would happen soon.

Now perhaps this would help you understand my coolness toward things like Liaoning and J-15: I still watch Star Trek (TOS, TNG, and Voyager) often, which means I often find mysef in a virtual 24th (occasionally 29th) centurey technology enviroment.... :D

P.S. I really didn't expect that the economy has become so bad that they even cut back on minimum wages. But let's be positive that things will get better soon over there and everywhere in the world.

Sounds like some good memories. Speaking of Korean girl, I'm dating one right now, and she's inviting me over for dinner on Wednesday night ;)

That's great air, just be the gentleman you are young man, some of your brothers on here will be praying for you, sounds like its getting a little serious, our two sons are dating very nice girls, who I hope they have sense enough to marry! Love is a beautifull gift, and one of the reasons I am so hopefull for us all, thanks for sharing that, as we all think a lot of you. Brat

Well guys beautifull airplanes like the J-20 and love just kind of go together, I'm still waiting for the PLAFF guys who fly the J-20 to give us a preliminary pi-rep on the Black Swan or whatever they call her, and hopefully when the magazine article on the J-15s landing on Liaoning comes out, it will open a well-spring of good will and openess between our nations. I for one am very excited about all these cool developements, it is a little inspiring, maybe we'll just put pen to paper and design that sixth gen bird. AFB

I hope our good ole moderators won't be mad with us going off topic. But I just can't resist sharing more: Throughout my school years in the US of A, I only tried once during one winter working in a Chinese restaurant some two hours away (Lynchburg, I thing), and that experience only lasted one afternoon! The next morning, I bade farewell to the husband and wife bosses and was on my happy way back to Blacksburg ...
