If you are stating the old USAF HI-LO with a top fighter and the second tier, it could well work that way, although for the record the FC-31 has garnered no official interest from the PLA, and is presently an export fighter. Maybe you and I should go together and buy one for a flying club??? LOL
However, back on topic to the J-20, things in Asia are very fluid these days, much like a professional chess competition, there is a lot of moving and shaking going on at present, this will no doubt push the J-20 project to the fore-front, looks like J-31/FC-31 are still in the backseat.
India's aggressive pursuit of PAK-FA will make the J-20 an imperative! The J-20 and the PLAN carrier project have swapped priorities back and forth several times between #1 and #2, with the balance of projects following??? no doubt the J-15 is very parallel to the PLAN carrier, but for the moment it seems that the J-20 is Golden?? we will see what the year of the goat brings upon further reflection, but J-20 is in a sweet spot developmentally and I would anticipate that LRIP will progress rapidly from here unless something "kooky" happens?

Nice ... if I had to risk a bet I would say (from left to right) ... I assume this at the CFTE:
J-7B - JH-7B - 2x J-16 or J-11BS - J-15S (the shadow of the spine looks similar to the Flankers left & right) - J-16 or J-11BS - J-10B - J-20 "2001'

No one is more qualified than you when it comes to aircraft Deino !
Coloration is too light to be 2001.
Why ??? ... after having gained the new colour scheme it could match !?
Even more that image is from 14. January 2014 ... at that time there was none of the new '201x-birds" at the CFTE.
LOL! oh brother, I would be very careful betting against Deino?? on the other hand I prolly never bet against Siege either??? this is a conundrum? LOL Wow!

Uppps ... I really do not want to start a contest between siege and me ... with his vast experience I really can't no catch him.
