A very grainy photo... It seems it's still possible to sneak up right behind the wall at Chengdu and take some pictures.

Damn! All that effort and the camera autofocused on the barbs! My guess is he probably just reach his arm up above the brick wall for a quick snap.

Simply amazing that bird ....

She is a good looking bird, and that grey is so much prettier than the old black, love to see it in any all over white with a blue bottom, or the white with recognition orange on the wingtips and stabs??? zoom, zoom??? here we go?
It just makes me so sad to have our kinda good neighbor, hey look at our new bird atmosphere blocked by closed minds and tall fences with barbwire??? no way to win friends and change the world?
I lived the first half century of my own life, closed and cold toward my Chinese brothers and friends, and the Sino Defense Forum helped me see things through my brothers eyes, and I was so excited to see the real China, and to get to know my brothers and to make friends?? I couldn't believe how proud I was at the launch of the Liaoning, and the first flights of each of the J-20s, seems a shamed to have to go back to small world??? end off topic

Whoever took the picture would have been better off using a toy drone to go high enough over the barbed wire fence to take that photo without trespassing.

Yup.. especially in china these days where you can buy a drone copter pretty much on every street corner! I have a hubsan quadricopter with camera made in China and I'm actually quite impress with the quality.

I'd prefer red and black .. would be super awesome
Cool...how far and high could it go?
actually my little brother has a quadcopter for crop surveys, the gyro stabilized camara is awesome, but what is amazing is the performance of the quadcopter, I has awesome performance and will climb and run to the first waypoint on the gps, then the second waypoint, then the third, and will return and autoland where it took off??? very impressive. Looks to fly about 500ft??? range to a mile or so would say???

I remember see news about someone trespassing a civilian airport with a toy drone.
The drone ended up getting shot down by a PLA chopper and the controller is found shortly after.

I don't think trespassing a military airport that is flying top secret aircraft is gonna end up any better than that.

No.... the pic was taken by the product support technician from that barb wire installation company. The J-20 was just happen to be in the background.

Yeah, it's one thing to use good old camera from behind the brick wall to take a few snap shots. But using drones of any type near such a sensitive area like your country's first 5th generation fighter jet testing base is a sure way to get yourself in jail. Anyone doing that will probably get charged with espionage and endangerment of government properties. And getting their tea time appointment real quick with the Chinese version of CIA/FBI.
