my thoughts exactly, but it is possible, and some test articles are much more detailed in specific equipement to perform certain tests, for example the F-35 high alpha testing required the addition of a spin-chute, and supporting structure???

What are the prospects of 3 prototypes being used for testing at the same time, after the initial necessary test sequential stage---to speed up things, like what I have mentioned in a few posts above? A bit like programming parallel computational codes, where you identify sections of the test programme where variables are not strongly correlated and can be tested independent from the other and in parallel.

Possible, or is that just me talking non-sense?

Well if in fact that is 2015 you will no doubt see concurrent testing on as many test articles as they have, limited only by their ability to assimilate that data. The F-35 program is probably flying as many as 20 to 30 test articles or aircraft in order to accumulate and incorporate as much data as possible into the LRIP birds that are rolling off the line today.

So no, you're right on track with the test program if indeed 2013 and 2015 are based side by side they will share the testing duties, with each aircraft likely having a "dedicated" test profile.

I too am rather skeptical of this2015, but the fact that it isn't 2014 could reflect that 2014 may be the static test bed for the 201X prototypes?

I had a similar idea, but why the fourth prototype for the modified Version ? ... as far as we know the static testframe for the original Demonstrator was "2000" ! ... or not ?

Well the last week on the Chinese boards some blogger was reported to have seen 2014. I don't know if he saw "2014" or he assumed it was 2014.

I'll speculate some more. Maybe 2010 was the static test bed for 2011/12, and 2014 is the static test bed for 2013/15? Maybe 2013/15 have even more modifications from 2011/12 that make them closer to production models, so they need their own updated static test frame?

Just throwing fit out there; this isn't a serious suggestion by any means.

Well President Xi did mention on the news about speeding up the developments of new weapons systems. So who know's if 2015 is real or not.
